A tighter string pattern at the same tension as a more open string pattern is going to "give" less at impact and in-turn impact shock will be increased. So yeah, of course is makes a difference.
Tighter string tension also increases impact shock. Stiffer strings increase impact shock, stiffer rackets, lower swingweights, and lower static weights all increase this shock. Even the grip should be considered.
Obviously there are other factors at play, but in general, the initial impact shock is the worst, so a softer impact is better. A more open string pattern, all else being equal, is softer at a given tension.
With that said, you can get away with stringing tighter patterned rackets at lower tension, so it might be all the same...
