Dunlop Hotmelt 300G compared to AG4D 300 or 6.1 Team?

I'm thinking of trying a sub-11.0 ounce, midplus, <24mm wide, 16 mains racquet at a cheap price point and the Dunlop Hotmelt 300G is one of the racquets I'm considering (along with the Head YT IG Radical S).

Can anyone compare the Hotmelt 300G to the Dunlop AeroGel 4D 300?

Or if not the AG 4D 300 maybe to a couple Wilsons, the Six.One Team or Six.One 95L?

Thanks for any and all helpful advice.

How long has this been going now?

Only 2.....2 long!!! :D Even my wife thinks so....had to sign a paper saying that the 4 demos I currently have will be my last set of demos for the year...sometimes I dislike the fact that she is a legal assistant for a lawyer

I will say, that all the racquets I've used in the past, even the AG4D 300, were 11+ ounces so at least I'm moving to a different 'genre' of racquets!

Bought three Dunlop Hotmelt 300G racquets and now that I've got them strung up properly, 41 mains (poly) and 43 crosses (synthetic), I'm loving this racquet for doubles!!!

So you finally got your tensions down to reality.
Not that I know what exactly is best, but 38 on a racket just like your Hotmelt's (Bio300T) is slightly on the stiff side.
As is 47 on a 4DAero300, but that has fewer strings, so something in between is closer to the call.

The one I've been using has Tour Bite 1.20 mains and Gosen OG Sheep Micro Super 16L crosses. Originally had the other two strung too tight and am currently having them restrung with Volkl Cyclone 1.20 mains (same Gosen cross) and YTex Quadro Twist 1.26 (same Gosen cross)...both racquets at the 41/43 pounds.

Should we make a 300G club? ;)

Sounds close. My Bio300T, same size and stiffness, but 18x20 pattern, is still to tight at 38 with SpikyShark16 at 38 lbs.
Take away 4 strings, and lowest 40's would be perfect, but I seem to be a low tension guy lately.

Funny thing is the only reason I went that low was because my first outing with the racquet (51/54 by TW) went horrible. I went back to my POG and decided to get the 300G strung crazy low just for the heck of it. I served horrible with my POG last week so I brought out the low strung Hotmelt 300G to see if it might help...glad I did!

Bio 300

TripleB, have you played with Bio 300? How does it compare to 300G and 4D300?

I play with Bio 300 with cyber flash 1.20 @ 50lb. Like it a lot. Light, easy to swing, good control. Lacks a bit on power and plow. But that's a trade-off I am happy with (compared to Tec 320).

In my opinion the Bio 300 was probably the worst 300 I've ever tried...and I think I've tried them all, including the 3.0.

In play it seemed a bit too stiff and I was never able to find the control, spin, or touch that I got with both the HM 300G and the 4D300. Some say the Bio 300 is built for the 'modern' game and that's probably true...I'm just one of those traditionalist I guess.

Of these two right now, even though it's in the early phases, I think I like the HM 300G a little better than the 4D300. The 4D300 offers a slightly more solid feel but love the maneuverability of the HM 300G.

Specs, Hotmelt is 11 oz and 306 SW. Like my Bio300T's, and stiffness 64.
4DAero300's are 11 oz, but 320 SW and flex at 60.
Today, mixed in my 2, added a Mfil200 with 17 gauge strings, and I played the same with all 3, rotating 3 games each racket thru 3 sets of doubles.
Makes no difference whatsoever in play.
