Federer: Will End Up With More Majors Than Tiger

I wish...but, no.Tiger can play his sport to collect majors for 10-15 more years, probably. Federer has 5 at most. It won't be that close in the end.

As long as he stays reasonably healthy he will win atleast 1 major every year for awhile IMO. So I would see him breaking the record in 2013 at the latest, although probably sooner that that. Of course while Tiger could wins majors in his 40s he would like to get it done before his 40s begin just in case. Nicklaus himself I believe own only 1 major past 40. While golf has longevity the majors are still mostly always won by guys in their 20s and 30s.

Nicklaus won 3 majors in his 40s. The 1980 U.S. Open, the 1980 P.G.A. Championship, and the 1986 Masters.

He was also runner-up at the 1981 Masters, 1982 U.S. Open, and 1983 P.G.A.

Your overall point's correct, though, that the majority of majors are won before players reach their 40s.

I think he meant winning majors over 40 though. Nicklaus was exacty 40 when he won his two 1980 majors, so he did win only 1 after 40.

Thats very disrespectful and ignorant of you to say. I plan on Federer winning 2 or 3 slams a year for the next 4 years.
Nice of you to "plan." But, have you considered how ridiculous your plan sounds?

And can we stop with the tennis-golf comparison? Every time Federer wins a Slam, some weirdo compares him with Woods and most weirdos conclude that Woods is greater by providing some stupid non-reasons. The comparison is idiotic: In golf, you don't even run.

I hope you're "sitting down" for this:

In golf you don't have that luxury

Tennis players do so at each changeover

My point, is that in any pro sport, the best have to rise to be the cream of the crop. No matter what the parameters are, it's an equally impressive achievement when you can clearly establish yourself as being one of the best!
