Grip size is smaller : Donnay X-Dark Red 94

Bought an Donnay X-Dark Red 94 Racquet with Grip3

I found that the grip size is smaller (between Grip2 to 3, or close to grip 2) comparing with other rackets of mine in Grip3 (Head Youtek Prestige MP, Babolat APDGT, ProKennex K5i and Redondo, even my vintage Donnay WST cobalt)

Do other Donnay X-series have this problem?

Thanks!

Sweet frame, isn't it? I found the heaviest buttcap really did wonders for the serve. What's your setup?

And on the grip size, they seem pretty true to size to me, though it's probably just a matter of you not being used to the shape? Head and Babolat grips, since they're more oblong, always feel chunkier to my hand than round Wilson or in this case, the Donnay frames. So when I play Head or Babolat, I always prefer a 1/4 grip rather than a 3/8. Compared to Wilson, Donnay seems just about the same, maybe a TAD smaller.

My setup is remove all slides weights, and put the 5g butt.

strung will X-One Biphase 17 at 56lbs

The thin beam gives amazing maneuverability.

But I found sweetspot is quite small, if hitting in upper part of the stringbed (just above the middle a bit), it get annoying sounds "twang"

Hmm. I got the twang with other Donnay frames (Black 94 especially) but not the Dark Red. Maybe I just got a good one from the batch.

Full poly, Big Hitter Silver; think I went 58 pounds. Have a demo for another week or so, so I may try to go with the 5g buttcap rather than the 10. No weight slides.
