My prediction is Gulbis....will take down Nadal before Federer does....Fed must have had his balls removed by Mirka as he's playing a passive losing game. If Fed never takes a chance on hitting a "big shot" he will never beat Nadal again.

He needed to play like Almagro in his first set against Rafa... but for two sets. It's pretty difficult to keep up that kind of intensity.

Not a bad performance

I think Federer would give himself a 'B' today. He created 11 break point chances - so he was putting Nadal under a lot of pressure - which was the same as Nadal (Nadal converted 4 and Federer 3). Really it was much closer between them than the score indicated.

What Federer can take away is that he is in a lot better form than even 2 weeks ago. A weeks practice and then hopefully some easier early round at the French open and by the second week coming into top form....

For the first time in ages, I agree with you! Gulbis IS a choker. Fed never was and never is (except, on occasion, with Nadal).

The only way for Gulbis to beat Nadal is in some MM masters where Nadal is obviously tanking since he already broke Agassi's record. Gulbis beating Nadal in a slam? Maybe if Nadal played in a wheelchair...
