Happy 20th Birthday Alcaraz - Birthday prediction, he wins Roland Garros 2023

He has been a breath of fresh air to the game, as a teenager he was the only one ever in history to win a slam, become world number one and become year ending number one. A feat that will be incredibly difficult to follow for future generations. A player who essentially has all the shots in the book, the aggressive shot making and jaw dropping inspiring play of Federer, the dogged tenacity and indomitable physical presence of Nadal, the solid indestructible cerebral play and the irresistible omnipotence of Djokovic....Carlos has matured very quickly into an all court player who has brought the wow factor to the court every time he plays. A champion for the generation and quite possibly one of the greatest to ever play the game in the making.

Birthday prediction - Nadal and Djokovic will be placed on the same side of the draw in Paris and will likely hammer each other into oblivion. Alcaraz will be fresh and waiting in the final, whoever comes out of the Djokodal match the winner will have nothing left for 20 year old Alcaraz. Alcaraz to become the first 20 year old to hold slams on multiple surfaces since Wilander in 1983....basically 40 years ago exactly. He's a traliblazer so these type of things will be common with him.

I don't know man..
I agree 100% on the bolded part, but i'm kind of fed up with Alcaraz already.

Which part aren't you sure of? Alcaraz becoming an ATG?

Why are you fed up with him? Curious to know your reasons.

He makes at least the semis. But depending on the draw I feel like Djokodal will beat him this year. As good as Alcaraz has been getting into a French open 5 setter with Nole or Rafa is uncharted waters for him. I say the old guard gets one more over the young buck. Where Alcaraz can get his slams is the Aussie and USO for now.. but he will win the French and Wimby at some point, just not this year.

No guarantee he can win it with Djokovic and Sinner in the draw. He’s avoided Sinner since hardcourt season. There’s no running or hiding for teeth in Paris. He’s bullying bums for now But there won’t be 7 rounds of bums in a few weeks

I‘d say quite the opposite. I see him even beat both, if he faces them. Djokovic has not had much preparation and even if he would, I can‘t see how he could beat Carlos on a slow clay court, when he maintains his current form. I think Novak‘s chances at the AO are much higher, comparatively.
And Nadal has also no/little preparation only and what speaks against him even more is that he‘s not fast enough any longer.

Well honestly, as much as I’m not a fan of Alcaraz. If he goes 5 with nadal for 5 hours, I’m gonna take Alcaraz. Unless Nadal can pull a Roland Garros 22’ level like he did against Djokovic, it won’t be enough to take down Raz

Very good chance all those guys will be on the other side of the draw. It is almost certain now that Alcaraz and Djokovic will be on opposite sides of the draw, and I have feeling both Sinner and Nadal will be in Djokovic's half also.

Yeah, I think so too. I feel he believes he can beat both of them at RG. He already has the belief that he belongs, has won his maiden slam, and been on fire this clay season. Alcaraz is looking stronger this year than last. Of course nothing is a given and Djokodal deserve the respect, but eventually it is going to happen, and Carlos looks like he is in a hurry to me. The maturity he is showing for his age is fantastic.

Totally agree! One thing to add is that he also has won some tough 5 set matches already at his USO run. 3 in a row actually. So I think he‘s prepared mentally and physically (if hopefully no injury comes in his way)
And sure, as you said, it‘s not a safe thing with Djokodal but I see his chances to be pretty good!

Yes, at the USO he has shown he can go, multiple five set matches, and still put on a solid showing in the final to win it all.

The fairest thing to say is he, along with Djokodal are the three guys to beat at RG. I think the year of maturity he has shown since last RG will make him very dangerous this year.

King is 99% sure to play RG. I would love if Alcaraz wins, he take down the king himself. Novak Djokovic is ok, he has 2 slams but has lost to some unworthy players at RG. But king is still the king.

Happy birthday to him. It's scary to think how much more he'll go on to achieve given that he's only just turned 20. The sky really is the limit.

Let me rephrase that.
Alcaraz is obviously ATG material and he's great for the game overall.
I'm fed up with the amount of overhype about him;simply put not a fan.

I guess you'd rather continue discussing which geriatric player will sweep the Slams this year?

@Hitman I don't think Alcaraz wins it. I think he goes down to someone outside of Nadal and Djokovic, and Djokovic gets a cakewalk FInal against Davidovich Fokina or Tsitsipas or someone like that.

This Slam and every Slam until he actually loses at a Slam are Djok's to lose. That's a fact.

Joker will be swept away by the magician Musetti.
It's payback time!

Oh and @Hitman, my dark horse for RG is Jan-Lenard Struff. People haven’t been realizing how well he’s been doing on clay being unseeded
Hilarious trolling. :p

A 33 year old who has never won a single title is not a dark horse for a slam. He's never even made the second week of any major.

Musetto has the game, but my guess is he will bow out early to some journeyman.

Djokovic won't beat himself, and will be there to chokehold whichever mug makes it to the Final. Could be Rublev, could be Berrettini, could be Tsits,, could be ADF. But whoever it is will go down meekly. We've seen this movie too many times before.

Over the years we made so many threads and made so many predictions about who will carry the can for Men's tennis after the Big 3, Alcaraz is that Man.

Yes he has! You are so incorrect! He made the fourth round of the FO in 2019 and 2021!
