Looks like the new Head Airflow line of racuets are on their way and available for pre-order. They look nice but not for me. Others might be interested, though.

Looks like Head beat Babolat to market w/ the wacky ergonomic grip technology. So anyone want to shed some light on what makes the Airflow grips more ergonomically friendly to women?

It says in the description that the handle tapers down from the butt cap to the racquet shaft, unlike regular ones. Female playtesters apparently liked this shape.

I must say that they look aesthetically pleasing.

My god all three have swingweights underneath 300. These things swing like those 21 inch child racquets.

"The most control oriented racquet in the Airflow line, the Airflow 3 offers a response that will appeal to 4.0+ level players."

What kind of a 4.0 player would want to play with a racquet with a swingweight below 300 and a static weight below 9.5 ounces? Metallix, Flexpoint, and now Ergogrip. Three completely useless technologies packed into one half-pound package.

They must have held Andre Agassi for ransome to get Graf to endorse these (it would explain his poor performance at Queens).

Everybody is laughing at the specs but these racquets are geared towards older club level female players. After watching some of 3.0-4.0 women's matches I think these racquets will definitely find a niche. They don't hit the ball hard so great stability is not needed. They don't have great upper body strength so they can hit with this racquet over a long period of time and not tire out. Obviously advanced level players will find these racquets severely lacking.

Female recreational player, probably older ones who can longer play competitively but still has very good techniques.

I'm with goober here.

I find it amusing that most of you are laughing and sneering at the specs of these racquets. All of you are forgetting that the Airflow line is NOT for you (myself included). Head is not trying to sell these to you. The designers weren't thinking of any of you when they came up this. So get over the specs and just leave them at that. I'll reserve my judgment until someone plays with any of them.

Exactly. Anyone out there using what Serena or Venus is using? Didn't think so. As CJ pointed out, these racquets aren't being marketed to most of the folks that frequent these message boards. There's something out there for everyone, so don't get your panties in a twist...

It is the begining of the end, say good bye to real rackets:mad:
I thought the racquet boffins were on the blink when the Wilson Rollers came out.

But I'm with CJ on this that it's only designed for a specific group and not at us.

Pretty nice looking paintjob. It reminds me of a Volkl BB10 except nice looking,

You just wait, these new rackets will influence the rackets that are available to us. Remember that we are not the general public.

Also consider the super light titanium days:(
