Help String Advice needed!

I am currently a 3.5 - 4.0 player, who recently (10/04) switched from a Dunlop 300G to a Prince Turbo Shark to add a little power to my game. Since switiching racquets I have struggled finding the perfect string and tension combination (I string my own racquets as well). I feel like the racquet plays the best for me with Wilson Stamina 17g strung at 56 lbs. However, being a harder string this is a little harsh on the wrist and shoulder (the elbow still feels good, knock on wood). To soften the racquet up a bit I recently tried Prince Premier 17 strung at 56 llbs. It played great at first, but after about an hour it seem to have too much power as I was hitting the ball long a lot more than usual. (I prestetched the Premier a little to hopefully minimize this) I currently play 2-4 times a week and would not consider myself a big string breaker.

I would also like to try Natural Gut (probably vs Team), however I am a little concerned that like the Prince Premier, the string/racquet combination will have too much power. Can anybody please give me a string and tension recommendation? Thanks I really appreciate your help!

If you're finding you have a little too much power from the premier, maybe you should string it at a higher tension. Premier is under the multifilament category, so it is a pretty lively string. switching to natural gut isnt going to help your problem either, since gut is even more powerful.

Try a multi that doesnt lose tension as easily like Laserfibre and Yonex multis. I've heard too many comments on how badly Prince Premier holds tension.

A 4.0 player who hits long should fix that with improvement of stroke or swing technique, not string. String can only take you so far, lessons can take you further.

Thanks to those that have already responded. I guess that I should have mentioned that I am also taking regular tennis lessons. Although I am certainly still improving, I am pretty confident that my stroke technique is not the major culprit here. As I mentioned above, the premier played great for an hour or so, but then it felt like several balls that usually land in were landing just long. I especially noticed this on my serve. I guess with the tension loss there was less spin potential. In any event, I don't think that I will be using premier again. I will probably try natural gut and string it about 2-4lbs tighter.
