Here's Where Thiem Tops Djokovic, Nadal & Federer

"The Austrian has won 7 of 10 matches against ‘The Big 3’ since 2019".

"Has ‘The Big Three’ already morphed back into ‘The Big Four’ and we have not yet recognised it?"

"Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer headline the Big Three in tennis. Andy Murray was also a part of this elite group in his prime before injuries interrupted his career. But is there is a fourth player that statistically already measures up?
Yes, Dominic Thiem."

Hmm.... I feel like he should win a slam, first. But.....I suppose Murray was included in a "Big 4" before he actually won a slam. Hmm..... Dunno.

I wouldn't say it's a big 4 because Thiem isn't too far ahead of the likes of Tsitsipas and Medvedev just yet. He is the frontrunner among the non-big3 field, but has yet to show dominance over the rest. I think what makes Thiem so dangerous is that the match is usually on his racket. Except on grass probably. I don't remember how he does on grass.

Timmy lacks the consistency of MurrayGOAT for there to be a Neo-Big4.

Thiem's immediate concerns are to understand court dimensions when playing a Singles match and learn a little bit about what unforced errors are.

Can't have a big 4 if the fourth lost in the first round of Wimbley, USO and retired in the second round of AO last year.

Murray was winning masters and reaching slam finals on a regular basis.

Until Thiem does that, he doesn't deseeve to be alongsise the Big 3.

Good for him that he has beaten the old Big 3 in 7 of his last 10 matches with them. How many big titles has that given him?

This. Thiem is meant to be the prince of clay and yet at nearly 27 he has zero slams or masters on the surface. He has one masters title on hard court to his name. At the same age, Murray had 2 slams and 9 masters. Thiem at present is the 'best of the rest' and has been in better form than Federer recently, but beating up on old versions of the Big 3 doesn't automatically elevate Thiem to Big 4 status

Thiem was born with no grace and a high tolerance for punishment. No surprise he didn’t want to chip in for the less fortunate players on tour. He doesn’t consider his pain tolerance to be a gift from God.

I like it when the ATP overrates someone to the extreme when that someone hasn't earned it.

Lmao even as a fan I can't take this seriously.
They hype players way too much after a good season then these player end up flopping later on

Stop jinxing it plzzzzz.

Obviously Djokovic either needs to play at a significantly higher lever than he did in Australia, or hope Thiem plays at a significantly lower level. When a supposed clay guy pushes you through a 5-set war and you need multiple momentum shifting injury timeouts to survive on your favorite court, he has your number.

Gotta hype someone to keep us from despairing about the end of the three. Give us some hope. But might as well hype a younger dude. By the time Thiem breaks through, his body will be on the decline. Given how hard he’s trained and played, he’s probably got the wear and tear of a 32 year old.

Haha true.
Hopefully Thiem can compete for long time just like most of the older players nowadays.

Age and era are important too, in addition to the fact Thiem has yet to win a Slam!

Djokovic wasn't included in the Fedal's company several years after his 1st Slam in '08. He had to wait a long time, until the dominant year of 2011! Such a dominant year for Thiem probably will never come either!
