Housing academy kids

I hope somebody can give me some information on what all entails housing players? I've got some information but it seems like people who are doing it are saying it is not big deal, easy etc... But, I wonder, don't you have to pay taxes on money received? Do you save receipts and claim meals and transport? It seems like a huge responsibility, not just transport and meals, but what if the kid gets sick, who is a guardian in that case, who pays the bill or they fall down while at your place? It just seems like very difficult situation for all involved, yet most people that do it here say it is no big deal. If anybody did this I would appreciate some advice.

Good questions, if you are housing an academy player, the academy should be answering these questions for you. From experience, what I learned is if in the US, parents/guardian can sign document to allow host to seek/approve medical treatment for their child. You should have their insurance and cc info. With cell phones, it is easier to handle situations than in the past. If coming from oversees, temporary guardianship should be granted to host or someone at the academy that oversees/interacts with this player. Either way, health forms on this player should be provided to you regarding past issues, allergies, concerns.

Payment/taxes depends. Some do it for credit for playing/lesson time for their own kid. This may go undocumented. Whether to report it is between the two groups and depends on amount as well. I think there is a lot of trade/cash in these situations, but anyone asking you to house a player should be able to answer these for you or they aren't thinking it through enough to warrant you doing it.
