With two weeks till release, lets look at some theories about how the dusted characters will come back. Which do you think will happen?
The most generic, predictable theories are listed first, while the more interesting, offbeat ones are listed last.
-SJW theory; Captain Marvel is key. She leads them into battle, lazers Thanos to death, then uses the gauntlet to undo the snap. Without Captain marvel, they are nothing.
-Stop Thanos assembling stones theory; They go back in time to stop Thanos ever getting the stones. Possibly by going to Xandar (before Thanos had any stones) to stop him acquiring any in the first place. Thus rendering the events of Infinity War redundant.
-Build another gauntlet theory; They go back in time, collect the infinity stones, then build their own gauntlet to take on Thanos and undo the snap.
-New villain theory; Thanos won't be the main villian, he'll be taken care of early. However the avengers still have to undo the snap, and they encounter another villain in doing so, maybe in the quantum realm. This new Villain would be something that emerges as a result of the snap.
-Dr Strange planned it all theory; While visiting the future Dr. Strange gave the time stone to Tony Stark, and also visited Loki in the past explaining the imminent danger. Thus, these two stones were sent forward to future Tony Stark to help him build something to defeat Thanos. When Stark finishes using them, the stones were sent back to their real timelines to prevent a time Paradox.
-"Thanos is a hero" theory; Thanos performed the snap to try and stop a greater force. (example; Galactus eating planets) Similar to Killmonger, Thanos is a villian who tried to do the right thing in the wrong way. Thanos could even help combat this new threat in endgame.
-Avengers Stop themselves assembling theory; They go back in time not to defeat Thanos but to stop themselves assembling in the first place i.e. Stark never becomes iron man. Thus Thanos doesn't get drawn to Earth. This means the likes of Stark and Rodgers live out normal lives in their respective timelines i.e. Rogers gets his date with Peggy.
-Multiverse theory; The snap isn't undone. Instead, they use quantum realm shenanigans to find a parallel universe, where all the dusted people were sent and are living here with no memory of the snap.
-Ant man up Thanos butt theory; No explanation needed.
