How to thin the grip on a racquet?

ive got a 4 1/2 inch grip on one of my racquets and i would definitely play better if i could thin the grip out so it was more like my 4 3/8 grip on my other racquet.
Im guessing there are some thin base grips that could do the job. Any suggestions?

Kimony Techni ...0.80mm replacement grip.

That's the thinnest base grip you'll find to exist. It will definitely thing out the grip to feel more like your 4 3/8 grip.

Take a look at the thread link above created by ChicagoJack. Compiles a huge list of grips.

A leather grip will change the weight and balance of your racket. If you wanna keep everything the same, try babolat skin feel replacement grip and put a babolat vs original grip

For a full size decrease you want the Wilson FeatherThin grip and about 8-10 grams of lead under it to make up the weight difference. I wrap 1/3 right at the top of the butt cap, 1/3 at the top of the grip and the last of it just above the middle where my hand doesn't touch.

Bab Skin Feel and Prince Resi Thin also work as well as the Wilson and Tourna thin grips. If your frame is a Head or Volkl, then you may be able to replace the pallets with 3/8's.

I respectfully disagree with this in regards to the Wilson. (I don't have experience with the Tourna). I have used Skin Feel once or twice, about 8-10 Resi Thin and have had the Wilson on 4 racquets. Skin Feel and Resi Thin have always seemed to be half a grip size down whereas the Wilson is a full.

I pull and stretch all replacement grips when I install them. Done in the presence of the client so they can check if the grip [where their hand will be] is feeling OK size-wise. If it is, I will then finish wrapping the grip. With Wilsons and Tournas, I do not have to pull as much to have the same effect; but for me, all work according to the clients. I have even rewrapped replacement grips that clients have screwed up installing [guess they have no thumbs, start from the top, really bad overlaps at bottom  ] and stretched out the grip to accommodate their preferences. :D

I'm with jonestim here. I've used babolat skin feel and tourna pro thin grip and the babolat reduces about half size while the tourna reduces about full size. But I'll never use the tourna grip again. Its so flimsily made.

The thin Kimony leather is overgrip thin. It decreases grip even more. But I don't care for it either. It's not tapered and very fragile. For example if you pull finishing tape to reapply, you have to do it carefully. Otherwise the leather will be torn.

bab skin feel is good thin grip that is also a quality qrip too. it reduces roughly 1/2 of a size - a "size" is 1/8 so it reduces about a 1/16 of an inch. it is also a dense grip that weighs as much as thicker grips.

I have also removed the grip and put 2 over grips directly on the pallet in the past and that reduces near a full size. you will end up with a firm grip but it wasn't uncomfortable to me. there are lots of reports that Nadal uses only 2 over grips on the pallet.
