I honestly don’t think Novak will ever....

win another major. Even in his wins this year, he’s never reached the level he was playing at in Australia in 2019.

He appears to have lost a little bit (not much) of his court coverage ability. Mentally, he seems more up and down. He’s 33 1/2 and what has made him so great appears to be in slight decline.
Thiem (whom he barely beat at this year’s Australian), Medvedev (who kicked his butt today and has beaten him 3 times), Zverev, Rublev and Tsitsipas are all coming. They’ve improved and want major championships. They’re all tired of the big three and believe they can beat all of them. None of them fear Novak, or even Rafa (outside of Roland Garros).

if they even have the Australian, I think one of those guys will win and this run of Novak’s will be over. His game does not translate to winning majors in his mid to late 30’s like Fed. He simply doesn’t have a big enough serve, nor the elite racket skills of Fed...who is probably the only player in recent history capable of winning grand slams at 35, 36 and 37.

Regardless of whether you're right about Djokovic or not, if you think that Nadal is incapable of winning Roland Garros at 35, 36, or 37, you are almost certain to be disappointed. He might not win all three of RG 2021, 2022, and 2023. He probably won't do so. He will almost certainly win at least one of them.

Also, Federer didn't win a Slam at 37. He won two Slams at 35 and one at 36.

Guys, Djokovic is still unbeaten in non-clay Grand Slam finals since US Open 2016. He won 5 of the last 9 GS tournaments.

2018 he won 2 GS and 2 masters.
2019 he won 2 GS and 2 masters.
2020 he won 1 GS and 2 masters but due to covid-19 got robbed of 1-2 GS titles.

He didn't even reach the SF in the ATP finals 2019. This tells us NOTHING for 2021+

I didn’t say he won a slam at 37...I said “capable” and I was right. He had two match points to win Wimbledon at age 37 3/4. Rafa will not be winning the French at age 37 in 2023. And I’m a big fan of his.

Nadal is definitely capable of winning Roland Garros at age 37 in 2023, and he is very, very clearly capable of winning it at 35 in 2021. He might even be capable of winning it at age 40 in 2026. And I am a big anti-fan of his.

I wouldn’t write him off. He just lost out today against a in form Thiem. He’s always better in Australia as conditions suit him, loves the crowd support, environment, court and best of 5 helps him more too.

Novak is still favourite there but I admit only slightly as the likes of Thiem, meddy, zverev are starting to close gap. Thiem is there already as a slam champion and multiple slam winner. We can’t write nadal or Fed off either.

Djoko deserves to be favourite though due to his record at Oz and on Rod laver but it will be tough no doubt.

Based on how he just squeaked by Thiem, earlier this year, who had him 2 sets to 1 and on the ropes...and now the fact that Thiem has gotten over the hurdle of winning a major...

In addition, Zverev took a step forward in his major play...we’ve seen what Rublev has done this year...and now we see Medvedev back to his 2019 self (maybe better)...I don’t think Novak is winning Australia this year.
Come to TTW for the analysis. Stay for the laughs.

Oh, and this is from the silly poster that created a “I hate how Novak plays” thread that had to be put down.

I guess it's understandable now why you're so tired of Novak lol.
