One of my all time favorite is Kingdom of Heaven, directed by Ridley Scott who also directed Gladiator.
If you like Saving Private Ryan then, try Enemy of the Gate.

Both are great movies but not as well received for various reason.
And then there is the original Blade Runner, final cut. That contemplate about what life is. It was the most personal movie Ridley made.

Naked Gun was really funny, always liked the movie Dave.

Thank you for the "Guardianesque cut & paste" proletariat posturing.

Amidst the film's sly screenplay did you expect to find role models here? It's a brutal, and uncomfortable social satire. While night & day, both the Parks and Kims love their family however differently it's expressed. Back to my original post's point: Bong Joon-ho's one hell of a film maker.

The gladiator makes reference again and again to his always prevailing wish to serve Rome and its leaders. SPR deals a good deal with family (Ryan's family, the "family" of the company of men) but literally (as in the closing bit of film) wraps it all in the flag
