Shapo SF could be a cracker! Rapperlov is up 2-0 in real ATP regulation format matches. White Drake will be motivated to whip Janniklev for the same reason, especially after barely missing ATP Finals last year.

Yes high time to revive the old USSR/Canada rivalry but this time in tennis. I can see it now, the year is 2025 and in Canada hockey has ground down to nothingness as the country divides into two warring camps - Shapo fans and Felix fans with the French-Canadians rooting for Felix and English Canada taking Shapo's side. The only thing uniting the country is the rivalry with Russia who have similarly divided themselves between Medvedev fans and Rublev fans and the only thing uniting them is their hatred for Canada.

I know this is not sports related but I am still surprised nobody speaks about it, since in this forum every privat aspect of a lot of players get discussed a lot.
I am myself not quite sure but my Russian friends are quite sure and I watched several videos, including the ceremony today in St. Petersburg, and most Russians think he outed himself today to be in a relationship with his coach.
If you go to min 19:30 in this video, he will say to his coach in English 'I love you man, I hope its only the beginning' and even he repeats it in Spanish 'gracias amor'.
Now the funny thing is, the immediate Russian translation by the moderator was leaving this 2 sentences totally out, translating only "I am thankful working with you".
That gives you as a Russian quite a laughter, showing how accurate and fast censoring is working here.

A year ago or so, ATP Youtube showed him in his off season training with his coach and while the thumbnail is a bit unveiling it, you can see the whole hugging scene at the end of this video:

That’s just pure creepy suggesting a very good tennis player turned coach would decide in his late 30s to begin a tryst with a teenager he recruits to his academy thousands of miles from the teen’s home.
