Thanks for showing me this again. I didn't realise I'm still opening up as much anymore. Any suggestions to hold back a bit?

Don't know if you saw my other thread,
but I didn't make the team. Which is fine - I'm playing on the grad student team.

That's all right EPH, you should be proud of yourself. You worked hard and put yourself out there for everyone to see. That takes guts. Besides, you can now play with smarter, more refined, grad students, instead of those snotty underclassmen.

Oh you have no idea. If I told you the name of my school, you'd instantly understand.

I posted in your other thread Eph - but want to say again - GREAT JOB!!! You worked hard, and you are in the right place for now. Make the best of it. I am sure it is a great place to learn right now.

Details on that tryout? We need details. This stuff is better than TV, so c'mon and give up the story of the tryout. I mean that in a good way.

smoothtennis, check out the other thread for my experience there.

sando, sorry to disappoint, but this isn't a joke. I'm in my 20s. Thanks for your comments.

i dont mean 2 criticise. but i dont think u are fulfilling ur potential

i am also 20 and just started getting into it again and the thing i found which helped my serve alot was the jump.. if i dont jump enough i cant get good angle or speed. so try a big ball toss and big jump.

is there any other vids besides serving?

serve looks a bit better in those vids, the speed anyway
cant see where it lands, are u getting good accuracy?
must be a bit annoying playing with the pensioners ;)

I actually like them a lot. The ages range from 60 to 87, and the 87 year old can make some amazing shots, and he has more energy than anybody I've ever seen.

No, my accuracy on serves is horrible. I'm just trying to get the basics first, and then I'll deal with accuracy.

I think you lose a lot of power because your arm is straight during the entire motion look at a good trophy pose

you see that the elbow is tucked in. In your motion the arm is straight and horizontal and make a half circle. You would have a way better racquet head speed if your elbow point down and then start your motion.

Seem like your are trowing a cricket ball, you should swing it more like trowing a baseball.

look at the video from Nadal at 6 second, the elbow is still higher than the foreharm, the foreharm lift-up after. Every other serve video I found have the same sequence, so that must be important.

Sorry about going out of topic here, but why are you playing with one of the most demanding racquets out there (Thats a K88 right?) . You are making things harder for yourself. Serving is a complicated thing already. Try going for a lighter and less demanding racquet, all of you game would benefit from that IMO.

+1... The kps88 is not to be taken lightly
