I've had my 8g nano video since last january and i've had to completely restore it a few times when trying to put new songs on it from various computers, like my home computer, then my brothers, being left with only the songs from the last computer.
I was just wondering if anyone knew how to put the songs from my ipod onto the computer, possibly a free program online i can download or something, to ultimately allow me to put all of the songs on it? Much thanks in advance.

I believe you can only transfer songs from your IPOD to the computer if it is a song that you purchased on ITUNES. Songs that you put on your IPOD from a CD, I don't think you can move to another computer..

he probably just was using it for pizzorn, and just now wants to actually use it for music :)

But yes use I tunes bro

ha actually i've tried, but it hasn't worked out yet. but no, ive been and am still usin i tunes.. but here's the situation. i have these songs on my ipod that was automatically put onto it when i synced it with my computer. then there's another set of songs different from that already on my ipod, that i would like to also have. BUT if i hook up my ipod to my brothers pc, it'll automatically prompt that i need to completely restore it in order to have the new songs on it..

If I'm not mistaken, the folder that has the songs in the iPod is "hidden." I think you have to do "show hidden folders" when you browse your iPod device from MyComputer

you have to change your ipods preferences in itunes to manually update rather than the automatic synch feature. then i think you can load songs from any computer.

when I got my new computer, I used a program called iDump. It takes the songs from your ipod and loads them to your computer. This was in august 2007, but it should still be around. Download.com should have it.

Its free, and its quick. Good luck.

I think he means he wants to get all of the songs onto the ipod, so like albino smurf said, just switch it to manual sync and then you can keep the songs from computer "b" while you put on new songs from computer "a".

irip is another program that you can use to pull songs off, but it sucks up so much time even on a G5. the invisibles thing is an interesting idea, but didn't seem to work on my first shot at it.
