The guy in the video said 2 things that I have been saying for a while now.

1) Djokovic has played the best tennis we have ever seen, at his peak. For me, early 2015-2016 Djokovic is the greatest level of tennis ever. Both in tennis, and mentality.
2) Gun to the head, if you had to bet your house on it, on all surfaces (apart from Roland Garos), if Djokovic had to play Federer or Nadal, you would pick Djokovic. Even at Roland Garos (not all clay surfaces), Rafa would have to play his absolute best to beat Djokovic.

exactly.

80% would bet on Djokovic. Even the die hard Fed fans.

When comparing him directly with Djokovic? No because it’s pointless and means nothing.

And time will tell. If Nadal surpasses Federer in slams then that weakness will have cost him GOAT title in the eyes of most pundits and observers.

At least Federer lost to an ATG GOAT contender Nadal. Djokovic lost to Murray, Wawrinka, Nishikori, Querrey etc LOL.

If you're counting Djokovic losses in 2016 in Wimby to Querrey, when you know Djokovic had fallen off it by then, you might as well count Federer's losses to Soderling and Berdych in 2010. Weren't they the same age at that time? From 2005-2010, Federer lost to Safin, Nadal, Djokovic, Del Potro, Soderling and Berdych in Slams. From 2011-2016, Djokovic lost to Federer, Nadal, Murray, Wawrinka, Nishikori and Querrey. What's the difference? At the same ages, they both lost to 4 guys who weren't ATGs. Now do you see the hypocrisy of your post?

If we discount losses to Big 3 guys:

Safin
Delpo for prime Fed

Murray
Murray
Wawrinka
Nishikori
Wawrinka for prime Djokovic which was a lot of the difference between 12 and 16 slams by end of their prime (2010 AO, 2016 RG)

If Kuerten counts vs 2004 clayerer then we can count Querrey too seeing as Nole won 4 in a row before that loss.

Berdych also beat Djokovic at the same Wimbledon, and since he fell off Nole has lost to a few mugs like Querrey and Istomin etc. Overall he hasn’t quite been prime Fed level of consistency at slams which is the difference so far in the slam race, even though he is Fed’s successor.

How are you realistically going to compare Federer's 2004 form to Djokovic's 2016 at that time. In 2004 Federer won 3 Slams, and would go on to make the final of 17/19 Slams after that. After 2016 USO, Djokovic wouldn't even make a SF until two years later.

Yea Berdych beat 2010 Djokovic in horrible form and having the worst year since his breakthrough. Djokovic is 2nd only to Federer in consistency in Slams. Not Nadal, not Sampras, not even ATGs of the past has his records and overall consistency at Slam level. Just because he didn't have Federer's level of consistency doesn't make his record subpar.

I agree. He is Fed’s successor but with a more modern baseline style.

Wawrinka beat Djokovic three times. Let's say, Djokovic handled Wawrinka like Federer handled his own fare share of mugs.

Djokovic wins the QF AO '14. That means Wawrinka loses 3 wins that Djokovic (in)directly allowed him to have.
Djokovic wins RG F '15. Minus one for Wawrinka.
Djokovic wins USO F '16. Minus one for Wawrinka.

If Djokovic did not lose so regularly against Wawrinka in Slams between 14-16, then Wawrinka would have been Hewitt level.

14-16 Wawrinka 45
04-06 Hewitt 45
04-06 Roddick/Nalbandian 38
04-06 Nadal 33

Goes to show that Federer is the most immune player ever to mug losses in his peak.
Even today I think Lleyton Hewitt is a better player than Stan Wawrinka. Look at their record outside majors.

Djokovic has been the only one able to win consecutive slams in the last 8 seasons.

Federer's and Nadal's domination looks prehistoric.

I guess most weeks at #1 in the world and most grand slams only gets someone 3rd best on your list...

when we talking about the best we should not take about a 10 year period long achievments. we should look at the best players and their peak-s-. I am pretty sure peak Djokovic would destroy peak Fed on any surface - except on grass it would be tight. We all know and have repeated 100 times that Federer until the arrival of Nadal had no real enemies. Not on this level. If he would be so good Nadal wouldnt bother him so much and even prior Nadal - he didnt win a single RG.
He is lucky even to have all the grand slams. Only Djokovic is the rightful owner of a RG trophy because he defeated Nadal on the way. Federer said he plays better tennis now than back then so you Fedfans excuse that he is too old and young Fed would erase everyone from court is just lunatic.

Djoko is still the third GOAT for me. He still has a lot of work to do to surpass Nadal and Federer.
