Is this years Wimbledon Federer's best chance ever to win another slam

Given how his draw panned out and his ever advancing age, is this Federer's best chance he will ever have to win another slam? I always thought if he were going to win another slam it would have to be a U.S Open one of the next 2 years, but his draw has set up in ideal fashion. With his massive grass decline he has no chance if he plays Nadal in the final, but Nadal could lose before the final. He has a cakewalk to the quarters with none of the big hitters who he cant handle anymore on grass. Djokovic in the semis on grass is beatable for Federer, even so far removed from his old grass level. Grass is the surface Federer has declined most on, and he is a much better hard court player than grass courter these days, but the draw couldnt have worked out more ideally for him. Is this his best chance ever to win another major.

I think Djokovic has way to much confidence over Fed now.. I think it will be a close match but I don't see him making it thru Novak....he's going to be hungry for his shot at Rafa and turning things back around before he starts losing ground again.

Will be interesting to see if the semi happens. I never thought of Djokovic as a great grass court player, and still dont. He won Wimbledon last year since he had a great draw, and his confidence and the matchup with Nadal was so heavily in his favor around then he was always going to win, despite that Nadal is a far better grass court player. I like Djokovic much more than Federer, but even a way below his former self on grass Federer vs Djokovic on grass will be interesting if it happens. I still think grass is Djokovic's worst surface by a wide margin, he is much better on clay than grass, and obviously much better on any hard courts and indoors than on clay.

Djokovic is may not be too good on grass, but he is quiet good at tennis, just like Fed was never a clay courter but had great results anyway. And in the next week the grass will be gone.

However I agree with you that the draw is good. Not too difficult for him, possibly tricky for Nadal. If he wants to win it he will have to play on the same level than RG 2011.

Is this Federer's best chance ever? Compared to what? Other slams of the last 5 years, 2 years? :). Djokovic is the easy favorite in the semi, so its not a great chance, and if he does beat Djokovic he will have to beat Rafa in the final :D. The odds are stacked against him to say the least . He really needed to get the number 2 ranking and hope that Rafa drew Djokovic in the semi, so Federer would only have to beat one of them.
