I am so happy with Anderson's win! I am half way to my prediction made almost two weeks ago of an Anderson-Nadal final! :) (Now Rafa has to come through in his match against Djokovic). Anderson is a true gentleman, really classy interview! :)

You want faster grass so these two would go on forever?

well as another user said the longest match occurred after they slowed down the grass and with much faster grass they would not have hugged the baseline and would have found other ways to break. pretty sure this wasn't happening on the regular in the 90s

A tennis player who now has made two grand slam finals and will be ranked atleast world number 5 on Monday has a wife way above his league?

Yeah, exactly. Women are attracted to competent men. Anderson is a top 10 player and two time GS finalist, so why would she be above his league? Unless you value looks more.

It’s too bad because Anderson will have nothing left for the final. I hope he puts up a better effort than that gutless performance in the US Final last year.

I feel honoured to have started the thread for such a match and look there was no poll. DID I SEE THINGS BEFORE THE TIME AGAIN ?

Asking a lot but I think he can put in a great effort.... for 2-3 sets... And if it goes longer he's gonna feel it like hell. He might have to rely on that serve for the first 20 mins though while he gets his legs into the match.

Salute to you...Kevin anderson.

You'll be remembered for this match.

what LOL ?

lost in your delusional denial land, aren't you ? :D

he played that badly that he had 0 BPs on nadal's serve. he was just happy to make that final.

here, he broke federer 4 times, isner 3 times in the first 4 sets.

The next-gen players would be crying after game 9, you have to respect the fortitude of these two players, might not have been a pretty game; however, it was a gritty and hard fought win.

I really wanted Isner to win but it had to end at some point. Got to the point where you know they won't recover so it takes away from the result.

Isner was serving first in the final set so after 6-6 in the final set he had the mental pressure of always serving to stay in the match. After so many games he must be mentally really tired.

even though i bet on isner, i dont care that he lost. just happy that we will have a better final on sunday now because of his victory. less serve botting and more all court play, in comparison to isner.

I had hoped that African Giraffe would prevail. And glad that it happened so. Just too many times a player beats a top guy and loses the next match. He deserves to be in the final because of beating Fed more than Isner. Also, that extremely irritating guy cheering for Isner in his box? Is he his coach or what? Not that I care, but camera focused more on his as he was more interesting than the whole match.

Nadal had easy draws all 3 times at the USO and a sub par Djokovic in 2 of those finals. They were easy wins.

Fed was an old man in 2014-2016 and Murray was easy pickings.

By the same token Hewitt, Roddick, Agassi etc weren't weak opponents either.
Yeah ok fine, lets discard all those wins during '14-16 because Fed was 'old' while he runs like a dog now lmao. Look at Nadal and Djoko right now at 32/33. They are still the fittest athletes right now. Times have changed. Early-mid 30s isnt really that big a deal as it was 15 years ago. So no, lets not discard those wins please.
Subpar Djokovic? He was fresh off beating Fed in one of them and a goating Waw in the other, the same Waw who beat at AO in a few months. The same Djoko who beat Nadal 7 times in a row? Just cant agree with you mate. Though yes, Nadal did get an easy draw at last years USO though the field is just easy these days.
Honestly, i would rather take peak Murray over peak Hewitt and peak Roddick.
We are never going to agree over this. No point discussing this any further

This match shows how having a better return on grass is crucial if the serves are on the same/similar level. Watching Isner in this match, I can't understand how he reached the final with his very, very average ROS. Probably his opponents weren't inspired enough, but it's still a mystery for me. Or maybe he used to return better prior to the final, haven't watched any of his matches except this one.

Nadal is a worse match-up for Anderson than Federer is, especially at the USO vs on grass.

Anderson is not really a true huge server, which Federer usually eats up on court.

he is actually a more than solid baseliner.
Their h2h was virtually the same before Fed lost at Wimbledon. Federer was handling Kevin just fine before his form completely dropped off.

Sure, let's discount Fed's early slams and pump up every Djokodal slam. Because it's only fair...

If you actually watched the 2013 USO final, you would see that Djokovic really played bad in sets 1 and 4.

Of course Nadal and Djokovic look good now with no young players to challenge them. Fed didn't have that luxury. Give them a younger ATG and they wouldn't look so good anymore.

You're biased as hell so why do I bother.

LOL Fed played one horrible match and you deduce he is a worse match-up for Federer than for Nadal.

Please stop...
