so check out Cinncinati's draw.... there's some crazy matches in first round. some good players are going home the first day.

Federer - Paradorn.
countrymen dog fights: Murray - Henman ; Ferrer - Moya ; Gonzalez - Massu ; Martin - Almagro.
and then we got things like... Berdych - Soderling ; Coria - Lopez ; Qualifier - Qualifier :) ; Robredo - Gasquet ; and SAfin - Monfils.

should be a very good day 1 and 2.

here's the draw:

Is it just me ? I feel like the entire field is getting stronger on hard courts.
We may see very different top 10 pretty soon..

Some of the matches that we have had this week at Toronto have been outstanding.

Next week's draw looks like it could create even more with the in form Murray possibly taking on Federer in the second round! And as you mentioned all of those first round matches.

It literally looks like anyone can beat anyone so it looks like we could be in for a good tournament. Entrants of the $1,000,000 competition aren't going to be too pleased though! lol

Aw, seriously? Qualifier has to play his own brother in the first round? Ouch! You're right, that is one freaky draw.

I hope they get to televise Safin/Monfils and Robredo/Gasquet.

Cincy = the most evil draw ever.

IMO a deliberate plan to ensure the ATP keeps its $1,000,000!

1 worrying match-up is Roddick vs. Bracciali. If injured/2006 form Andy turns up, he could get upset. If RCA 2006 championship Roddick turns up, Bracciali will be smoked.

No, both qualifiers are lucky because had they played any seeded player, they most likely would have lost in the first round. Now that they both playing eachother they both have 50/50 chanes going in to the second round.:mrgreen

Im going wednesday and thursday. These masters events are awesome for spectators. Hope they dont do away with them as promised.
You get to see unbelievable matches up close in 3rd round that you would only see up close for a zillion dollars at USO. Even at that the loge at Ashe is still pretty far from the court.
Also theyll be a tiny crowd watching Fed or Nadal practice compared to having to sit in the mini-grandstand on court 4 to watch them practice at USO.

it is a weird draw

- henman vs murray for thesecond week in a row?

i would have said that was evil, but as Fed lies in wait in the second round anyway, neither of them was going to go deep into the week, anyway. Murray may have come a long way, but surely he doesn't stand a chance against Fed

And Murray's going to be dog-tired after the last two weeks anyway, so it'll probably do him good to go out early and get a rest.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if Tim beats him in the first round.
In fact, I kind of hope he does.

Its rigged...
Blake and Nadal in QF?
Agassi Nadal might meet in R3 f Agassi > Haas in R2?
Tursunov meets roger again in R3?
Andy Roddick with his measly qualifier after qualifier draw meets roger in QF?

is Roddick going to play?

The players are so good these days it hardly matters whether it's rigged or not. Anyone could win their match. Except Marat who might lose to an under 500 again.

no way Brachialli > Roddick...

I think Roddick may lose to Bracialli if he doesnt pull out...remember last years wimbledon pushed him to 5 sets on GRASS!! Bracialli has big serve Roddick doesnt tend to handle big serves aswell as i think he should. Also there are quite a few good qualifiers who he may face. Hyung Taik Lee, Nicolas Mahut, Davide Sanguinetti, Andreas Seppi and Vincent Spadea..

Roddick has just come back from injury so u never no also Vliegen is a threat with Chela or Davydenko in 3rd round.

You forgot about Djokovic - Nieminen.

Also Bjorkman - JCF (if the match was being played three years ago).

That's funny....the US Open is close so he just won't try!! :D

Do you honestly think that Rafael Nadal, one of the most competitive and driven people on the planet, won't try in a Masters Series event?

The final is going to be Blake and Federer.

Blake? He played so-so In Toronto. I think Murray and Gasquet will have a better run. Maybe Haas or Malisse can step it up.

Murray under Gilbert has been pretty good, but you know he plays Federer in the second round right?. Gasquet will lose to Ljubicic.

Nadal could meet Clement in the second round whose been playing very well lately.

Nadal should be able to get past Clement, even though I do agree Clement is on a roll. Nadal will have plenty of stamina to beat him down.

Murray will probably play Federer in the second round so I don't think he's going very far!! :D Which is too bad cuz I like Murray and he's playing pretty well right now.

Gasquet will undoubtably continue to play well and advance. His only issue might be too much match play during the past two weeks if he makes a deep push.

You're right about Blake, he's on his way down. I predict he'll drop to around 9-13 and hover there for the next year or so.

Blake will roll through Santoro (I love Santoro).
Blake will most likely beat JCF.
Blake will then beat a very inconsistent Berdych.

Paradorn has a shot. Why? Because if Fed wins Toronto tomorrow, he is going to withdraw, and P-dorn is going to play a qualifier/lucky loser.

Murray>Henman.

Kinda wondering about Chela and Davydenko???

I'm going with Davydenko.

But I don't know if i should.....hmmmm...

Just to say to you Safin fans.

Monfil is going to kick his ***.

uxna,

I'm going to say Bjorkman.

I don't think Fed is going to withdraw from Cincinatti. He doesn't have enough match play for the summer hard court season. But when you are Fed, you can hit around with Mirka and call it a day.

I doubt Federer will withdraw from Cincy.

I'd like to see Tursunov do something great at Cincy. He's been playing so well for the past few weeks, has a great hardcourt game, he just needs to lose the bad attitude when he's down.

People keep talking about this Nadal fellow. Didnt he retire because he was disgusted with his performance in Toronto.

I think it would the smart thing to do perhaps. You'd want to go into the US OPEN fresh. Then again he only needs to play at 3/4 of his level to win most of his matches. Could be a good tune-up but after that nasty fall he had I'd rest a bit.
