Microgel Prestige Mid - Tension recommendations?

I'm looking to get some string tension recommendations for a Microgel Prestige Mid... I'm trying to find an alternative to my K95's for stiffness purposes and thought I was buying the midplus Prestige, but I screwed up and got a mid. I may as well give it a shot before I sell it off, so here I am.

I'll be using Cyber Flash 16 gauge (wish I had 17). I was thinking of trying 54 lbs - same I used to use in my kBlade Tour. Possibly lower? Maybe 50?

I need about 57 in the K95's to feel comfortable, hoping I can get away with significantly lower tensions in this thing due to the flexibility.

I see a lot of guys with this frame using tension near the 60's, but this seems way too high to me. I guess I hit with relatively heavy top spin with almost a full western forehand and a semi-western one-handed backhand and I'm 4.5'ish if anyone was going to ask.

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

How is the MG Prestige compared to the KBT? I really like the KBT and also want to try the MG Prestige out. Is it more demanding than the KBT(sweetspot)? How's the power, control, volleys, serves, and groundstrokes compared?

compared to the MG prestige MIDPLUS, I'm pretty sure the KBT is still less demanding. i would start around the low 50's, maybe 51 or 52. the prestige line is really underpowered and really needs to be strung low.

They actually seem relatively similar. I am surprised there aren't more comparisons between the two because I think most guys could swap between them without much issue.

Let me get some more play on the Prestige with my favorite string and I'll get back to you.

Yep, I'll go for low 50's I guess...

I have had success with tensions up to 58 and 60 lbs in my fxp prestiges. It all depends if you can string your own raquets or are willing to pay to experiment. I would recommend starting around 55 and seeing how that feels after the initial tension drop. At low tensions my mids still feel like a trampoline.

Alright sounds good then. The only major difference is the weight-about like .4 oz difference. But, I don't mind more weight.

Well I strung my MG Prestige Mid at 58lbs if I use multi and about 48lbs when I was using Luxilon Timo 18. Both feel great but the Timo gives more spin while the multi, more feel.

With your western grip, NTRP level, and string (cyberflash 16g), you can get away with 50lbs. I have Prestige Mids and string around 60, but I play with less spin, use thinner gauge poly that's livelier than TS Cyberflash, and I'm stringing on a lock-out machine.

and how it plays? I´m looking a lively stringbed with that "pocketing" feel of the old flexible racquets...Dis you experienced something like that?

i find that this setup gives the PM a great added touch of spin, and power. it is a powerful poly that goes well with this lower powered frame, but the extra spin allows it not to be too powerful.

i would give this set up a 8/10, strong points consists of power, spin, touch, and arm friendlyness.

thanks, i´ll try my setup (volkl xplosion mains and head fxp power crosses) at 35-40lbs next week...
