What an annoying British commentator. Rather than comment on the match, he's basically just rooting for Murray. It's Murray this and Murray that. How lame.

British commentator covering a tennis match in Britain supports British player more than his foreign opponent shocker!!

Well, only up to a point. It's perfectly normal for commentators in most sports to root more for the 'home side' when representing their country.

Watson: Perfectly normal.... here in the UK ;) I've often wondered the same thing, jokes aside.

Ahaha Murray just lost. People don't believe me when I saw it's 95% (or more) that Federer or Nadal will win Wimbledon.

I can't believe Murray lost. What's up with him and Djokoiv? Hello!!! The clay season is over people, no more excuses, start playing! Justify your ranking!

The shocker isn't that the commentator supports the British player. The shocker is that he's letting his support for the British player translate into commentary that falls below minimal standards of acceptability. Did you watch the match? No matter what Fish was doing, no matter how big his shots, the commentator invariably went on about what Murray was doing. No matter how well FIsh was playing, it was always about how Murray wasn't playing up to his standards. Obviously Andy Murray is at the center of the galaxy, and controls everything, including how well his opponents play. The rest of us mere mortals have overlooked this fact. Enough with the Murretard announcers already.

He is commentating for the benefit of the vast majority of his audience, who watch only three weeks of tennis per year (plus Murray's other slam matches as long as they're not being shown at an inconvenient time).

Quite frankly, most people watching the broadcast on BBC couldn't care less about Fish, in fact you can expect viewing figures to plunge now Murray, Roddick and Nadal are out.

Yeah, I really can't work out what the problem is here. I heard plenty of positive comments towards Fish when he played good shots.

Sure, they'll be more enthusiastic towards the British player when he plays good shots. They're commentating (I'm assuming you're referring to the BBC coverage) for a 95% terrestrial UK TV coverage. Of course that's going to be the case. :-?

I've seen US coverage before and it's been exactly the same thing when someone like Roddick is playing. It's totally normal.

And I complain about it when it's American commentators going overboard for American players. Don't even get me started on American coverage of the Williams sisters or Roddick. My comments are not anti-British, they're anti-tribalism and anti-idiot.

Murray is so over-hyped...a while back they kept talking about the
"Big 3" with Murray in there and then started to add Djoker too... these 2 guys are not nearly on the same level as the real BIG 2...if anything soderling should be listed as more of a threat to take a Major
