N Sixone 95 (mine) vs. head flexpoint prestige/radical

I currently own the n sixone 95 in 16-18 pattern. Ive looked at some new racquets since my game was off. I hit a few shots with my friend's flexpoint radical and it felt good. Very soft feeling to it. Now, going from a n sixone 95, to a flexpoint radical OR prestige, what can you say? Does anyone have a prestige or radical in flexpoint?

how would it be different than my n sixone tho? For somreason the n sixone 95 doesnt feel SOLID. What racquet would be better in ALL categories?
n sixone, fp prestige, fp radical, lm

youre prolly missing the sweetspot if it doesnt feel solid. stick with it. theres no sense in wasting 200 dollars on a racquet with a bigger headsize.

i have a flexpoint radical tour and love it. I can't really help cuz i havent had the chance to hit with the n6one 95 but my friend is demoing it along with my racquet. hes liking the n6 better because he thinks the rad feels too heavy. then again he isnt used to a heavier weight yet(currently uses pure drive) so both the rackets feel heavy to him.

first of all...did the racket that you tried have the same string as your n6.1? you can definitely make your racket play softer (unless you're already using gut).

and secondly:
Ive looked at some new racquets since my game was off.
you're looking to exchange rackets just for THIS?! one of the board member's signatures states something very close to "losers find an excuse to lose...winners find a reason to win." from what you've said already, you're blaming your racket for the exact reason that YOU are not playing as well as you did before.

3rd. if the n6.1 does not feel solid...then i doubt any other player's rackets will feel solid. n6.1s are very stable...stiff..but stable, which can only mean that you're not hitting the ball correctly on the sweetspot. also, assuming that you're switching to a MP, the headsize difference won't make too much of a difference from the 95 sq in. on your n6.1.

i hope i've made my point. im not trying to attack you personally or anything like that...im just trying to prove that you cant just blame your racket for not being able to play well unless you couldnt play well the entire time you have had that racket. i would save the hassle and the time and money and just correct your form. hit against the wall, have someone analyze you, try to think what you are doing wrong...anything basically to improve your game from the slump..because believe me, everyone has their slumps, even federer..although his slumps are more like a "decent day"

Ok i've got HPS 6.1 18x20 and i can tell you this is a very very solid raquect (before i played with i.prestige 630 that was a very solid raquect too)
If you want feel your raquect more solid than it is i sugest you to string it +2Kg in the cross and you will see that what i mean ...in fact it will feel a ton more solid
Mine is 23kg/25kg and i can hit as strong that i want i always controle the ball.
But it's surely true that 18x20 feel more solid that 16x18.
The wilson 6.1 is deffinitively a very solid raquect.

I have both the racquets in question NsixOne and FXP Rad Tour. I love the n6.1 and like the Fxp after i added 26gm's of lead to the handle and stretched the head. In stock form the FXP was not in the same class as the n6.1.

However the other night I was having a shocker and couldnt get my timing going at all, "framing heaps of shots" after the first set I switched to the FXP for the remainder of the night and played much better, "not good but better due to having the larger head" or maybe it was just in "my head" but the FXP has kept its place in the racquet bag for nights like these.

Next day I was back to the n6.1 and loving it.

Ljubicic could u elaborate on the weight u added to the handle? I am interested in trying it myself but was wondering if it really makes a big difference? How did u add it?

Snoflewis is right. The racket companies marketing people are playing on your insecurities. It's clearly working. Stick with the N61. I have heard this frame called many things but "not solid" is not one of them. Feel is a subjective thing and I suspect as snoflewis says, you are simply not hitting the sweetspot enough. Thats one of the BENEFITS to players frames...if you hit a crappy shot you know about it and adjust your contact point till you find and ingrain the location of the sweetspot. If you are simply not getting the racket around because it's too heavy...that's another thing. Then maybe the FP Radical is for you.

I can tell you that the Prestige (all versions) is no more "solid" than the N61 and if you hit it high in the stringbed you get nothing...zip...zero on the shot. The Prestige line does have a nice plush impact feel when strung right but if you miss the sweetspot on it regularly, you may not think it's very solid either.

Which flexpoint radical are you talking about? The midplus is a nice racquet with a big sweetspot, pretty solid(unless you are playing someone like fed.) It's really easy to swing-almost too easy. I wouldnt advise going out and buying any racquet without trying it out first yourself. You can never go wrong with a prestige, the flexpoints are a little easier to swing from the previous models. BUT....if you are having trouble with your current ncode the prestige might not be the way to go.

I demoed the flexpoint radical (not tour) yesterday and found it to be tinny sounding/feeling and also a bit too light to handle really fast balls unless I was hitting it back flat. My son also tried it and did not like the response or the vibration. He's coming from a 10 ounce TiS5CZ with Dunlop Max Comfort that's 5 points HL, and I'm using a 363 gram Thunder Rip with Signum Megaforce. Pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum and this racquet didn't appeal to either of us.

I copied the design of John Cauthern's weights "search his user name" It is made from a sheet of roofing lead and cut down in the shape of a bullett about 70mm long and attached to the grip just above the hand and concealed under a over grip.

It brings the tour to 382gm's with the overgrip and elastic band dampner, "which removes that tinny noise somebody in this thread was referring too"

The best thing is it only takes a few minutes to make and is easy to reverse if you dont like it. But if you can handle the extra weight you wont be removing it.

John.
