Don't we already have a poll, though, for this match?
No... go look at the title (this is Shanghai, not Madrid)
Nadal in 3 sets, hopefully nobody retires,we have seen enough of that for this tournament.
Good preparation for the Aussie Open for Nadal, this court is similar to Melbourne imo, maybe a tad slower.
Nadal needs to mess with Davydenko's rythm, he obviously needs to playing agressive, a few balls over Denko's shoulders, short slices to bring him off the baseline and maybe incorporate the drop shot aswell.
Nadal in 0...
Very tough match up for Nadal considering Davydenko is one of the few guys that could hang with Nadal from the baseline even when Nadal was in form, nevermind the mediocre things we have seen from Rafa this week.
I've seen a lot of commenting done on Davy's condition and if will he be fresh for tomorrow. Apparently the russian is at a disadvantage because he played longer but I tend to disagree.Although it will be tough for him to recuperate,he at least has a rhythm and survived some tough moments against djoker,he has more match play and against tougher opponents. Nadal is better rested but has basically no rhythm. His only tough match was with blake and he benefited from 2 retirements. We can safely say that Nadal hasn't played a match since his match with robredo. He has basically played 2 sets against ljubicic and that's it,because those phony sets with one-leg Lopez don't count,it might as well have been a practice session and not a good one at that.
Nadal can beat Davydenko if he runs him around a lot and doesn't give him any rhythm. Perhaps some Davy fans will get upset at me but I felt djoker beat himself today. He lead this match most of the time but had the same brain fart as in the simon match and this time paid for it. He allowed davydenko back in the game and couldn't stay strong in the deciding moments of the match.
Nadal needs to slice a lot and try to attack davydenko.Right now the russian is playing better than Nadal from the baseline.
Rafa in three hopefully.
Davy wins if he doesnt retire that is.
Flip a coin. I think this one is a 50/50. I dont think Davydenko will be that fatigued though, and I do think if he plays very well and holds it together mentally (a big if for him) he will win.
If Davydenko plays as well as he did today he wins in straight sets. Nadal in his current form on this surface will not even be able to keep up with him nearly as much as Djokovic did today unless Davydenko hits the self panic button.
Djokovic played like trash today and nearly beat Davydenko, geesh Davydenko is being overrated. I say Nadal in 2.
Everytime Nadal has come up against a true quality opponent on hard courts since his return to the tour (I am not talking Monfils caliber) he has looked like thrash and struggled to even win games, never mind a set. I dont see anything about his play this weak that suggests he has suddenly got alot better, struggling past a past his prime Blake and old geezer Ljubicic.

Davydenko is 2-1 with Nadal on hardcourts. Last year he crushed Rafa in Miami, and won in Paris by retirement.
He has a chance if he's not too tired. He definitely deserves it more than Rafa.
Still, I expect Nadal to win somehow.
Weak era Davydenko will roll over strong era Rafa.
Outside of his retirement at the US Open he has been untouchable.
Who are you talking about if Monfils calibre players don't count? Djokovic struggled past Simon, yet most people would rate him as the best HC player in the tournament (most people thought he was going to win it).
You're disrespecting Blake, who played pretty well, I thought.
The sad thing is that Nadal is in a lose/lose position on these forums because if he wins tomorrow everyone will say it's because Davydenko is tired (even if he runs around like a man possessed), and if he loses people will say how he's useless on HC, even though he's won a slam and a masters on HC this season.
Ok lets have a bet. If Davydenko wins I put 'Im a clown, Federer >>>> Sampras flying24' is king on my signature, if Nadal wins you do the same but with Sampras >>>> Federer and Cesc is king, deal? This applys to anyone else if Flying24 rejects my proposal.
Are we forgetting the victory against gonzo?
I will take that bet. I dont like either Federer or Sampras so most of that sig isnt even a big deal for me anyway. Just replace the flying24 with cuddles26 part of it. I will see you tommorow.
Actually since I am a huge Serena fan and hate Henin I have an idea if you are interested. Lets make it for me if I lose "I'm a clown, Henin >>>> Serena and Cesc is king" if Nadal wins, and you have to have a "I'm a clown, Federer >>>> Sampras and cuddles26 is king" if Davydenko wins. Make my punishment worse if I lose since I dont really care about either Sampras or Federer enough on a support level to give a damn but having a Henin >>>> Serena sig for me would be torture.
Ok, your on.
Davydenko is a much better player than Gonzalez. Just looking at their rankings, titles, and head to head. The played here this week and Davydenko pissed all over Gonzalez as usual. Gonzalez even lost to a soon to retire Safin last week, LOL! I dont get all the love for that mediocre one shot wonder on this forum.
Kewl see you back on here tommorow then. Just one detail to confirm. How long is the sig for, for the loser? A few months, a few weeks, a year, forever on this forum?
Nevertheless gonzo counts as a "true quality player"
2008 - Nadal playing some of his best tennis on HC. Better than right now. Davy was playing better in Miami too, though.
Hmmm lets say a month, deal?
Sure if your minimum standard of true quality player is a past his prime clown who hasnt even won a Masters title or even been ranked in the top 5 for even a single week in his 10 year career maybe.
