Nagal v/s Thiem 2020 USO

So both players are facing each other for the first time iirc.
Nagal is a first Indian man to make a singles' slam 2R after so many years.
(that "achievement" thing and hype sound kind of hilarious; but being an Indian, I know that singles tennis isn't an area where Indian athletes have had big success, so I'm proud of Sumit Nagal.)

On the other hand, the Austrian star Thiem is in patchy form. At western and southern open, he lost to Krajinovic in a horrible fashion. Also didn't look great against Munar in the first round on US open 2020. I missed the match, but 3 of my friends from ttw watch party, @Atennisone @Meles and @Yugram said that Dominic was struggling to find a rhythm.

Even though thiem surely goes down as the heavy favourite, Nagal can make things tricky. Afterall, he snatched a set from a break down against Roger Federer, at last year's Us open 1R and gave him huge troubles.

I'm rooting for Thiem too this match, he has a 3% chance of beating Novak (so does Med). And a 3% chance is better than .0003% chance the rest of the field has versus Djoker.

But all joking aside, I think #18 for Novak will happen next Sunday, I'm just looking for a decent match in the final. If Djokovic was sitting on 20 slams right now, I'd be concerned, not with 17.

Regardless of its effectiveness as a shot, Thiem's BH slice motion is one of my favorites to watch. Just a nice chop at the ball.
