Need a tennis shoe that feels like a running shoe

I have tried 17 pairs if tennis shoes Over the past several years. I have yet to find a single shoe that provides any sort if cushion or comfort. I have a wide front of foot, narrow heal, high arches and bony feet. I have been wearing New Balance Fresh Foam running shoes for a while now. They are lower to ground than typical running shoes and have a tread that is not deep and does nor tear up a clay court, (our court maintenance experts said the tread is not an issue). That said, I’d like to get court shoes because these stick on hard courts and make moving difficult. I have never had stability issues. Turned my ankle one time in 15 years, when I wore actual court shoes, so that is not an issue. Any suggestions to try. Not a fan of rigid cement blocks, which most tennis shoes seem to be.

You’re not going to get something close to running shoes as running shoes are much lighter, (usually) more comfortable, and have much less support. This is because running shoes don’t need as much lateral support, unlike the cuts you take in tennis, hence the feeling of blockiness in court shoes for a more stable ride.

If you want something lighter and wider which maybe could be the closest to your running shoe, try NB 996v5 2E or the Yonex Sonicage Wide/Plus.

I’m a 3.5 singles tennis player, the pounding on my joints in tennis hies is awful. How do people play in tennis shoes when they are running so much. Lol

As a 30 year long distance runner, I think running shoes are very uncomfortable to wear for doing anything but running.

Have you looked at basketball shoes? Or maybe volleyball shoes?

unfortunately, on a hard court, volleyball shoes will wear out in less than 8 hours. And good ones cost as much as premium tennis shoes.
