Poly Combos (Mains/Crosses)

New Question (I didn't want to make a new thread):

What sort of preference is there for deciding what to use for the mains and crosses? I've heard that people use gut on the crosses and soft polys for the mains. How can one tell if a poly is 'soft' or not? Also, how can one tell the difference between a 'one-piece' and 'two-piece' stringjob?

Just wondering what your favourite combinations of mains and crosses for poly strings are. Also, does anyone have any combos for the following polys that I just bought:

TS Cyber Flash
TS Cyber Power
WeisCannon Silverstring
Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour
Technifibre X-One Biphase
Technifibre NRG2
Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power

All in 16 gauge.

I use cyber flash in the mains and PSG 17g in the crosses. I've also used silverstring and lux in the mains but prefer cyberflash, mainly for cost reasons as i couldn't tell a great deal of difference between it and lux, didn't like silver (still have 2 packs of it).

I used a poly hybrid before of Blue Gear 1.28 and Big Ace 1.25. Worked really good.

ballistic 17 mains / nxt 17 crosses is a sweet set up, loadsa spin/bite but lasts only a week or so!

well worth a try if cost is no option, i preffer it to alu vs gut

VS Gut Mains + Cyberpower Crosses, comfy + so much power. I'mma try Cyberflash.

I also liked VS Gut Mains + Signum Pro Poly Plasma, just had that great pop sound.

Just gone for your current hybrid myself. What tension do you have it at and what are your likes/dislikes of it?

sorry, just read the OP again. lol. I think he means he has bought that lot and wants to know what would be good Poly mains with Multi crosses. It is a bit confusing though.:???:

After a long absence from stringing and just getting into hybriding, we string my son's raquet with 17g Big Ace/TS Cyberpower with Gosen Sheep micro or PSGD in 16ga. Any combination of the above with poly mains and syn gut. My son likes the big ace/Gosen combo best.

I recently tried ALU Power in mains and X-1 Biphase in the crosses. I really like it. Trying to decide if I look X-1 better or K-Gut. Tough call.

I actually just strung up Pro Hurricane (not tour) and Gamma TNT 2 although both in 17ga. Its a nice combo. I have not hit with either before and I was surprised at the power and touch I got with it.

I play with the Prince Hybrid Tour and I am always looking to add a touch of control to that stick as I feel it has plenty of power already. I only played 2 sets with the set up (doubles) and it may be my new doubles set up. I think it will have too much power for me in a singles match where I tend to hit harder than in doubles where I am more concerned with placement over power.

I also just strung up Lux Timo and NRG2 but only hit about 10 balls with it. Seemed nice and was going to play with it today but we got rained out.
