Positively happy thread

There's enough negative crap going on in the world and we all get sucked into it. Well that's not allowed in this thread. No political stuff, no stuff that should be in GPPD. No trolling each other, no trolling period. If someone being hurt/killed makes you happy take it elsewhere, this isn't the thread for that. This is about the lighter side of things, things that make you happy, things that are light-hearted, things that are positive. The world would be a better place if we focused more on the good things instead of always focusing on the bad, and that's not up for debate in this thread, we can do that elsewhere.

For me I'm happy it's Friday. Tomorrow the wife and I drop off the boys at the grandparents house for a few hours so we can go out on a date, which is kind of our Valentine's celebration. We're gonna eat something yummy and then watch Happy Death Day 2U. We both enjoyed the first one and it seems to have the same main cast so it should be fun. My wife gets a well deserved spa day on Sunday and then since Monday is a holiday we're taking the kids to a pizza place we've never been since the one near us is closing. Looks like lots of fun and the older one is really excited. The youngest doesn't understand and I just hope he doesn't try and run off too much.

I'm very lucky to be able to get to my work office in 5 minutes from my house. I have freedom in my job to figure things out how I see fit as long as I can show why I did it that way and how we all benefit in the end.

I've been with my wife for 14 years, but it feels like at least 120, but in a good way. We're best friends even though we both get on each other's nerves, sometimes intentionally just to get a rise out of each other. Our kids are awesome.

What's making you happy?

Every time I see your avatar I want to watch Game of Thrones. I love that character. Hope he and Brienne make it.
I honestly can't wait for the new season.

This is the level of hype the last season seems to have brought.

What's making you happy?

Your post strikes more as something you are grateful for. Happiness comes as a result.

this video unites the world and is a great source of joy and positivity showing how music can break down all needless stupid walls that encapsulate us.

I am sure I didn't say you aren't happy.

What is positively happy? Can you be negatively happy?

I learn something new every day.

What are you happy for? What makes you happy? That's what I asked at the beginning of the thread. The point of the thread is to talk about things that make you happy, not whether what I said sounded more grateful than happy or whatever. That's missing the point of the thread I started. I don't want to debate anything in this thread, just want people to post happy things, happy thoughts, spread the joy. Too often you see a nice story somewhere and everyone goes "Oh wow what a wonderful story, we need to see more of these" but yet there's mostly negativity out there and we get hyper-focused on that stuff and it affects us. It affects how we live, our mood, etc. We live with so much negativity that we expect it. It can almost be 'fake news' when something positive happens. It's almost a shock if you read/hear about something awesome. I'd rather it be the opposite. I'd rather react in shock to something bad happening instead of feeling 'Huh whadda ya know, another serial killing, more murders, more abuse, same ol' crap, thoughts and prayers'. Nobody does much about it, just outrage, then it dies down til the next time. You can go to GPPD and shake your head at the lunacy of stuff in there, or you can post something in this thread that's awesome and happy, that could pick up someone else's day. Maybe positively happy means it's something positive that makes you happy, maybe negatively happy means something bad happening makes you happy. I don't know.

I read a story that in Kalispell, Montana a cat got outside and was frozen in the snow. Owners found it and took it to the vet. The vet was able to revive it. Awesome story. Owners didn't give up, neither did the vet. Great story to read.

I enjoy going to my son's school for lunch and recess. He and his friends just chase me around the playground the entire time which is what they want to play. I oblige. I wind up exhausted since I have about 30 or more kids chasing me, but it raises their spirits and apparently has given me quite the rep at the school. Kids will shout that I'm here for lunch and recess. They all swear they'll be on my team to keep other kids away, but in the end they always wind up running after me. I love it.

If you're happy for learning something new everyday then that's awesome. I enjoy learning daily, even if what I'm learning frustrates me because it's hard to learn. But as I tell my son I'll keep learning until the day I die and I expect the same from him as well. He loves school and learning so that makes me happy as well.

good for you but as for me there is always hidden, a mistery to discover, something that can not be described with words, something internal that i missing like a ghost is trapped within me, something that i have to find out for myself.
It is something enigmatic, luminous and gloomy at the same time.

I got three healthy reasonably decent kids, two of which work hard to remain independent and to achieve their goals and with whom I have a good relationship The other is a teenage boy who isn't using drugs, or stealing or in any way causing me major worry any more ( he went through a phase). He even smiles and laughs in my company once in awhile and will clean a kitchen after lots of prodding. What more do I really need to feel some satisfaction and contentment at my life's work. They make me happy.

I have two kids who have grown to become great human beings and responsible, independent adults. Both have finished their college, son got married last year, daughter did a year before him and gave birth to my first grandchild last April, an adorable boy. My younger brother will finally have his first kid later this year after many past struggles and numerous attempts. Our sister did a fantastic job of raising her daughter (who just started going to college) as a single mother, and I am grateful for having them two living with me.

As far as I am concerned, I am still managing to keep myself in excellent shape and solid looks thanks to home workouts, running, bike riding and swimming, which is great as I am turning 50 in two months. My work is going well, and I can afford both the life's biggest needs and the things I enjoy in my free time. It could get even better as a few of us are planning to open a bar soon. I am not seeing anyone but definitely planning to do that in the coming months which is already a huge plus as before last summer I didn't think I could ever have a relationship again, a phase that lasted for just over four years.

There have been many ups and downs but all the things I mentioned are what makes me very happy with life...

My neighbor made me very happy this morning. I have never talked much to her before. I understand that she is a female @Sentinel ... absolute gem of a person. She is an animal lover - takes care of 18 stray cats, provides food and shelter for 3 stray dogs and visits another shelter for old cows and feeds them everyday. Even talking to such a warm person made me very happy.
