So after discussing this with @gn and carefully reviewing the situtation, we both agreed that it's only fair if @TripleATeam 's cancellation is valid, but @PDJ 's is not. Unfortunately, PDJ did not make the cancellation in time, so the orignal pick of Sinner over Nadal will stand. TripleATeam was able to get the cancellation in on time, so this match won't count toward his picks.

Though, I understand that there's some jockeying going on to try and determine the outcome as it relates to the leaderboard, please be aware that when you make these last second picks, you run the risk of them not being counted. It's highly recommended that you carefully consider your picks or cancellations and get them in well before the match starts.
Appreciate you guys looking at it. I understand I might run the risk of not getting counted, but there's little else I can do when there's someone waiting for me to post at the literal last second. Either I take the risk or I lose outright.

One pick, one cancellation per match rule would mitigate most of this gamesmanship that is quite frankly ruining this competition.

To be fair though, it would just move the question from being about cancellations happening right before a match to picking right before a match.

That why I said most, not all.

im seriously considering retirement from this competition after being loyal for nine years and it’s all because of this bullpoop. But y’all just carry on with the infantile behavior.

I'm considering it myself, honestly. I'm not proud of how I acted and I think that brought out the worst in me. I don't want to limit anyone else's enjoyment of the game just to give myself internet points that don't really matter in the end. Keep playing, you're a good guy.

We already have a rule allowing players to PM their last 1 or 2 picks to other players to overcome this match/switch situation.

I agree, though it would be hard to remove that from the equation entirely. It's just unfortunate, because really, there shouldn't be gamesmanship or making picks and cancellations based on what other people are doing. Just play the game straight up and make your picks based on how you think will win. In some cases I could see making like your last couple of picks as a way to hedge your bet in case of an upset, but typically that's a point where you make the pick and are locked in, so there's not a back and forth thing where you make a pick, then cancel your match and try to re-make the pick all in the span of a few moments literally right before the match starts.

And yeah, this whole snafu could have been avoided if players opted to go that route too. Then you aren't aware of what your opponent is doing and have to make your pick based on your own decision about the match rather than checking to see how your opponent is picking.

I'll include that in future tournaments in the first post.

I'd also like to apologize to everyone for how I acted in that situation, especially the admins that had to get in the middle of it. I hope I didn't turn off anyone to the game, and if I did, please give PPL a second chance. I realized a little late how childish we were both acting, and I just want to put it out there. I'm going to try to avoid these things in the future.

We can't run Basel & Vienna joint event this year since Basel is cancelled.
So our next tournament is Paris-Bercy.

Top 8 will qualify for ATP Finals 2020 based on Singles Rankings.
Please note: Your WTF 2019 points will come off by the end of Paris-Bercy.

Yeah, they suspended or cancelled the entire Asian swing and a number of indoor European events as well.

Paris-Bercy will begin on November 2nd.

I recall the rule. And also the reason why it was implemented.
If l remember correctly the poster has to send their choice to two others, one of which will post they have received said pick for whatever round ie. the semi final.

The irony that both Triple and I could lose is not lost on me.

Rules Update:

1. In the final stages of a tournament (R16 and on), if you'd like you can send your picks to two posters via PM. This is to avoid last-minute picks or cancellations based off of other players' picks. Please try the admins (@gn, @TripleATeam, @Big_Dangerous) or @stringertom, or make a post about who else you're sending to.

2. In the case of a last-minute pick or cancellation occurs, we will not use a live timekeeping mechanism. We will use whichever timestamp Flashscore shows for the match. Keep in mind, Flashscore might round the start time (If a match begins at 12:07, Flashscore might show 12:05 or 12:10.) Your post must be made before the time Flashscore gives. Ties will not be counted.

Congrats to @PDJ on his maiden Majors title(7th title Overall).
@TripleATeam remains at No.1. Poised to break most weeks at No.1 record(88 current best) before Djokovic does. :-D

PAris-Bercy thread is up...
