The 300RS is a racquet I wish I could demo. How does it compare to the Beast 98?I have one in the bag at the moment... still prefer my Tecnifibre RS 300..
Interesting. I thought it was a very powerful stick. The string pattern looks pretty open too.RS 300 has More spin, more control, less power, better feel and is more flexible.
I agree. It has the same playability as the PD, it’s spinny and powerful. But it’s not APD or PD power level (I have played extensively with these racquets) and it’s wayyyy more comfortable. The Beast 98 provides a lot of power for a 98 inch racket.. even more than some 100 inch rackets..
It's basically 98 Pure Drive.. thats not as stiff and offers a nice flex and feel..
Still using it and lovin it. I'm temped to demo the new Prince Tour ATS 98, but I stocked up on a bunch of Beast 98s when they went on sale, so I still have several backups. I bought all of them for under $100, makes more sense to keep 'em.Anyone still using the B98?
If no for what racquet did you switch?
Really? InterestingI just got a VCore 95 and it reminds me of the beast 98..
Very similar... vcore swings easier and has more control... every thing else about the same..
I've never had a problem and I bought a Kneissl Aeramic Pro off **** on the cheap with the worst grommets I've ever layed eyes on - break off if you looked at them wrong. Stringers don't seem to care. I got spoiled playing the PT280s for twenty five years, keeping them in my trunk year long, never replaced grommets.
Regarding the Beast 98, it won't be an issue as far as I'm concerned as I only use Ashaway Crossfire with kevlar and Zyex anymore and I just never have to restring. Well, the truth is, I wasn't ready to give up the precision and extra weight of my PT57 frames (Head, Donnay 95s) just yet but by the time I hit 70 I'll probably be ready for a lighter, bigger headed frame and the Beast is the best 98 I've used. (I do still use the Beasts currently, just not my main frame at this juncture.)
I did get one set of spare grommets one for each of my two Beast 98s. I'd be more concerned about the ported Beasts regarding that issue. It's a shame they chose to skimp on the grommets, but I've found the quality of the frame itself to be totally top notch. I plan to be using these frames for another ten, fifteen years and I don't foresee a problem with that. Actually, in my case though I can see that the grommets are indeed flimsy, I haven't noticed any split ones.
TF40, Which one, 305 or 315? I tried both; very good, and now I am mainly playing with the 305 16x19; key thing with TF40 is to have a soft poly between 45 to 48 lbs.I tried the TF 40 16x19..
Specs were very bad...so basically I really couldn't even make a judgement..
The VCore 95 is also very similar the the Blade 98 V8..
I think many get scared of the 95 inch spec...
They shouldn't.
I know a few who switched from the Vcore 98 to the 95...
