Prince Synthetic Gut

I have been playing with the Natural Gut/Syn Gut hybrid for the last year.
And I thought that I hae found my Holly Grail, at least stringing wise.
However, the other day I picked my sons racquet (same racquet, only smaller grip
and strung with the PSG), since I broke a string on mine.

I thought that I was seeing more of the kick on my kick serve.

Just for the sake of the experiment, I strung my racquet with the PSG.
Funny thing is, I am loving it, second week in a row.
Natural Gut, I always thought responds quicker than any other string and provided little
too much power. With the PSG I feel the ball sitting on the racquet just as long as I like it.

Now I am considering going back to the PSG full time.

I would welcome other people's comments.

Go for it, if you are not a string breaker. The psg broke on my in about 45 mins. hitting and about 15 mins. with a ball machine. Now i hybrid it with gosen polyon ice. Anyway, before I started breaking strings like I do now, I too found the psg better than other more expensive string such as tnt or live wire.

Head MP racquets have dense string pattern so I do not break strings often.

When I was playing with anything else, I was breaking strings after 5 hours, with string savers.

predag, your experience is similar to many other players. That is one reason why Prince sells more PSG and PSG/D than any other string. AFAIK, it is the #1 selling string of all strings regardless of manufacturer.

And I can totally see why.

Gut produces a great feel for the flat and underspin shots.
As well as flat serve.

Topspin I prefer the PSG, I think.

psg is definitey softer and less powerful than gut, so that makes sense you would notice a softer deader feel..suggest if you are kicking the ball better w. psg maybe it is because the string is deader and you are generating more headspeed to compensate. otherwise gut hits w. more spin and puts more work on the ball....whatever floats your boat..as long as you like it better is the only thing that counts

Amen NoBadMojo. Whatever string you think you play better with use it. Too many strings to choose from anyway. Find a good one ( in your humble opinion) and play with it.

I'm the same way I bounce between prn. syn. gut & the real deal {gut}. for the money & it plays great there is nothing that comes close.

i'm withyou Kirko. if it ain't real gut, then it's some type of nylon no matter what they call it or how much it costs. i find a big advantage to gut, but if you use a synthetic, then i find the diff in performance between the psg at $3.75 and say technifibre bi-phase at like13 bucks to be pretty minour.in my case i like the Duraflex better because it plays more like the crispness of gut and the psg original feels a bit too spongy to me, but some like the softer feel. poly is another story unto itself of course.

How long would a round of PSG Duraflex last in your racquet?

If not long-lasting, nevertheless how long to leave a string in before you pronounced it DOA?
