i have had tennis elblow all summer and got rid of the wilson hyper hammer 5.3 OS that was causing my arm problems. still is not healed all the way but some better.
i am going to lay off tennis till next spring, give the arm time to heal completey.
i have looked at the pro kennex 5G, allot of advise and phrase for these rackets for being very arm friendly.
but i looked at the pro kennex 7G, it is 1/2" longer than the 5G and the specs seem to be the same.
does anyone play with the 7G and prefer it over the 5G????

:)

This has been talked about a great deal so search the links for some good information.

I can vouch the the 5g, it helped me a great deal.
Night and day for te over a hammer 5.3

either one for TE relief. The 7g has more pop...I never really noticed the extra length when I played one. Play the 5g now...do notice the power difference, though.

From what I hear the 7g is not as good on the elbow as the 5g.

If you have TE, go for the 5G. When your TE is gone then venture into 7G waters. The 7G feels a bit more stiff... and it's definitely harder on the elbow if you have a 1HBH.

i use a two handed backhand, and thought the 7G might be better since it is 1/2" longer but from the post here, it seems like everyone says the 5G is better on the arm.
i have read the comments on TW and the specs are almost exactly the same for the 7G and 5G.
what is the difference?

You can still demo the 5G and the 7G at TW, and decide what feels better.
But better hurry---their stock of new 5Gs and 7Gs are running low.

The common wisdom on these boards is that a standard length racquet is easier on the arm, shoulder, elbow than extended length, which makes sense if you think about it, as there should be less torque. I currently play with a 5g, haven't hit with a 7g for a couple of years, but do believe it swings a little heavier and has additional power, especially on serves. IMO the 5g has plenty of pop, except perhaps on serves. If healing is you main goal I recomend you go with the 5g; it really is a great all court stick.

Here's my experience, many many years later.

I had been playing with Völkl C10 Pros, Fish scale old one, and the 2019 version. Bit of lead (up to 5g) on the hoop.
Golfers elbow pretty much under control, but other things I do in life took a toll on my triceps tendon!

I went lighter during 2020, and until now I've been using a pair of old but sound condition Volkl C9 Pros.
One was extended 27.5" the other 27"
these are very similar to the C10 but a bit lighter. 0.5" longer of course.
I do like the extended 27.5" feel. Just sort of the right swing with my arm length?!
I can somehow play with less grip power.
That's very important for combatting TE / GE.

I him with a couple of frames a while back that were 16x20.
I liked that string bed feel, bit not the frames.

Fast forward to having a racquet itch again:)

Searches here threw up the PK 7G Pro.
Arm friendly, decent pop, the desirable pattern.

Only place to get one, a 2020 version (I believe) was Tennis Warehouse USA.

Decent price when converted to £.
No import or VAT applied - woohoo!

Arrived today, strung it up with Prince Premier Touch mains and Head Rip Control crosses 54lbs.

Hit with it this evening - early days, but I liked it.
The 16x20 is much more me, than the 18x20 pattern racquets I've had in the past - including the PK Q Tour 325 way, way back.
This racquet crushes FH and BH drives when needed.
More pop than the Volkls.
Slice BH very nice too.
I'm just slicing in the serves cos of triceps.

Post play my elbow feels calm.
That'll be the beads I guess.

We'll see..

The longer the racket, the more leverage the ball will put on your arm with contact. Think of the racket as a lever. If you want more leverage, you get a longer lever. That's why, in theory, a longer racket can give you more power and spin. You're getting more leverage when you hit the ball. Conversely, the ball has more leverage on your arm too.

0.5" it's not much. I've tried playing 28" too:)
The other thing is I don't hold the longer racquets so far down.. 27" with your pinky almost off the end, is the same as 27.5" held further up cupping the butt cap flare.
Could even go full Gasquet:-D

I always move up the grip for volleys.

The absolute killer is holding the racquet too tightly.
