Grips you describe don't seem to be a problem in being able to generate topspin. More than likely its the path of the racquet that many have problems with. Although players "think" they are swinging "low to high" they really aren't. I often tell players the path "before" impact and "after" impact have to be the same - can't come into the ball with a flat swing and then bring it up after striking the ball if you expect to hit with a lot of topspin.

One thing you might want to try is just before the beginning of your forward motion, tap the racquet on the court lightly. I have a feeling you'll be amazed at how far above the ground you actually are when you begin your "normal" stroke. Now, you don't want the racquet down this far but its a good training exercise. A nice 30 - 35 degree racquet path generates nice topspin.

I'd consider following thru really high, almost up over your head, to create the high finish. Now see the arc of your ball. It should clear the net by 5' or so, meaning 8' off the ground at the net.
If you hit too low, it's the flat swing and low finish, usually.
Aim 8' off the ground when the ball clears the net. Then bring it down when you're dialed.

Practice!! Have a friend or coach feed you balls and keep hitting until you find the shot path that you like, and keep repeating it.
