Officially the "Tournoi de Roland-Garros" (the "Roland Garros Tournament" in English), the tournament is often referred to as the French Open. It is named after its stadium, which is in turn named after the World War I pilot.

The French Open began as a national tournament in 1891. In 1925, the French Championships opened itself to international competitors with the event held on a grass surface alternatively between the Racing Club de France and the Stade Français. For the 1928 Davis Cup challenge, a new tennis stadium was built at Porte d’Auteuil. Named for a hero of World War I, the new Stade de Roland Garros, and Court Philippe Chatrier, was built with a red clay playing surface.

Is that your final answer Andres? Haha. In 1968, the French Championships became the first Grand Slam tournament to go "open," allowing both amateurs and professionals to compete. - taken from the same Wiki page. ;)

Sorry, I forgot to say that you're supposed to only answer the question with question # and answer letter. Please don't post any facts about the questions until after the date it goes down. Please let everyone else have a chance to answer/guess, it'll be more fun.

Thank you

btw I have added rule so you can read it ^up there^

darn i just found this thread today and i am to late anyway i would like to answer for the fun of it

Nadal is right handed but plays some sports including tennis left handed

Andy Roddick's coach is Jimmy Conners.
My grandmother told me enough times while we watched him play.

I am not sure about the first one Since Roger Fedderer is from Switzerland,I will have to say he speaks Swiss.

Anyway for the fun of it how dod I do.

The first one, Roger Federer's main language is German, there is no such thing as Swiss(the language) to my knowledge, but there are subtle differences from the German in Germany and the one in Switzerland. The second one, Nadal is right handed so you got that one. The third one is actually d. both his brother and Conners. So next time tell your grandmother that Conners isn't the only coach Roddick has.

btw thanks for posting

I just don't think it helps when someone flames someone for not knowing something or making a smartelic remark about it, ect. and you also shouldn't have to beg for advice, ask one of the more helpful members on the board, theres plenty.

btw You can also ask me, but I'm not the smartest/best tennis player around so I might not be able to answer your questions to the full extent.
