Of course, Rafael Nadal is trying to become the first male player since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four Grand Slams at the same time.

If Roger wins the tournament, he will have won three different grand slams at least five times each. (No other male player has won three different grand slams at least three times each.)

If Roger Federer wins the tournament, he will set the record for most consecutive years (9) of winning at least one grand slam.

If Roger Federer wins the tournament, he will have the open era record for most Australian Opens (he already has the second most at Wimbledon and tied for most at the U.S. Open).

If Roger Federer reaches the final, he will have the open era record for most Australian Open finals.

If Roger Federer reaches the semifinal, he will move into third place for most Grand Slam semifinals.

OK, Connors is at 31 and Lendl at 27. Fed will own both of them very soon

The AO is an exciting tournament this year given the number of records that could be set. Wasn't aware of Federer's chance to set the record for the consecutive number of years winning at least one slam.

It's interesting to know that fed's 10th GS too came at AO and after which he had won the W & USO the previous year...The same situation now for rafa who could win his 10th GS at the same arena!

Even more interesting is, that triumph was fed's 2nd oz title, This too would be rafa's 2nd AO!!
