ROK users: What did you switch to?

I am currently a faithful Wilson ROK user. Matter of fact, I have always been a Wilson guy.

PS 6.0 85 > Ultra 2 > Hammer 6.2 > PS Triad 6.0 > ROK.

I have just demoed the Yonex RDS001 at Indian Wells. What a crisp racket!

I have been with my wife... sorry, racket for several years and rather than having an affair and going through 'the grass is always greener on the other side' business, I would like to hear from former and current ROK users.

What made you stay? What made you go?

thnx

I used the ROK 93 for a moment in time. It's a pretty nice racquet. I never really enjoyed the balance of the racquet though (I wanted it more headlight). I tried adding lead tape, but I just couldn't get it to my liking. At the time, I was comparing it with the Head PC600. The two racquets are often compared, but they're different. In the end I chose the PC600, it just felt better to me. I do enjoy the way the Rok 93 plays at the net and I feel that I can get a little more spin from the Rok as well. The Rok feels clunky compared to the PC600 and this has a lot to do with the balance.

My 50's doubles partner found this to be the replacement for his ROK.

I use the nPS 95, although I never used the ROK.

Great manuverability and incredible volleys and touch shots. Good depth on slice and very solid topspin off both wings. Not much pop on the serve, but very good placement, which suits me because I was never a huge server. It's got an 18x20 string pattern but is actually pretty well suited for spin, especially with a softer string. It has a strung weight of 10.7 oz. and probably comes to about 11 oz. with a dampener and overgrip. Very nice looking racquet as well.

I tried the ROK for awhile -- still have one -- and played the 6.0 Triad PS a few years ago. I liked the ROK but it had less power than any other racquet I ever tried. Great directional control and good feel, but I had to swing very hard and still left too many balls short. I migrated to the Estusa PBB for a couple of years, but at my age and skill level I found it to be too much, although I had much better results with it than the ROK. I moved to the Volkl V1 series several months ago, and they provide me with much more power and spin and variety. The only downside had been touch on volleys.
