Stop making threads about this. The FTF has been trying to do this for years but kept getting denied because of complaints. It finally got approved earlier this year. The roof was supposed to be ready by 2018 but kept getting pushed back because of denial. 2020 it is.

So please, stop making threads complaining about scheduling and no roof.

Your answers are here. They're getting a roof, it's gonna take a few years.

What's the purpose of this forum if we aren't allowed to complain anymore?

#complainingforlife

Seen like 10 threads about this in the last few days. Go to Pro Talk subforum and it's just as bad over there.

I'm partially bitter because my other thread with legit question was deleted based on a trolling accusation.

I count six threads just from today . . . all about how sh*tty RG is. I mean, not an original idea, for sure. But if you're gonna be unoriginal, at least scroll up and down the first page or do a search before you add another insipid thread to the stream.

And next month when it rains a little, it'll be "Why Wimbledon s*cks so much." The usual f*ckin' suspects.

Yep because those that got rained out not on Center Court will have to wait to play until tomorrow while the privileged few that got to play on CC don't have to stress it.

RG organizers could have cared less about a roof before. They only did it because the other 3 did it and there was immense pressure.
They'd rather do anything than work hard to make the tournament a better event.

Don't act like they're saints because a roof is going on (finally).

Finally.

Roland Garros, the Internet Explorer of tennis tournaments.

Internet explorer requires light and technology…RG is more like this:

They also have had the least amount of cooperation with their local municipality in expanding. As they've discussed, they're half the size of the other slams in terms of square acreage. There were some logistical issues with the Ashe roof that got taken care of. I remember something about how the grounds couldn't sustain the weight of the roof. Wimby was never a matter of if but when (I still think if they had lights and roof in 2008 Fed wins). Melbourne Park is beautiful and it's next to the cricket grounds so it's just a great sports area in general.

Roland Garros has the botanical gardens next to it which the environmentalists were pushing back against the new construction to replace Court 1 bullring, and the roof. The locales were the ones not wanting RG to get lights.

They had an option of moving. USO did it and so did AO.

Well, we know Murray never gets scheduled anywhere else but that's the perk of playing in your "home tournament."

Good effort, MasturB . . . but there's little point in listing facts when some people have their fingers jammed in their ears. We're having a little issue with that here in the States. It's not pretty.

Trying to enlighten some people is as useless as trying to get an alcoholic to stop drinking. Hard to 'help' a person when they don't wanna be helped. ;-)
