Smoking section in a food court / cafeteria in Las Vegas???

I'm watching TV Shows "Hacks", and in Episode 2 season 1 there is a food court in Las Vegas where people smoke while eating, and this lady blew the smoke towards the air vent on the ceiling. She then told a girl next to her that the non smoking section is over there... So the girl moved about 10 metres away, where basically there is no wall between smokers and other people. I've never seen anything like this where I live. Smoking is not allowed at all indoors here.

Are there really smoking sections in indoor food courts or canteens in USA?

Reminds me of a long transatlantic flight. I was sitting in first class and smoke was wafting in from the economy section. I complained but the hostess could do nothing.


Wait, wait, it was the other way round. I was packed in economy like a sardine.

According to 1 source there are 12 states in the US where indoor smoking is allowed (even in most restaurants?): Wyoming, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina & Georgia.

AFAIK, smoking is not allowed in restaurants in Nevada, including Las Vegas. Does the Hacks TV show happen in modern LV? Perhaps the show took artistic license since it is supposed to be a comedy.

Ok, apparently this girl got a new job in Las Vegas to be a writer for the celebrity stand up comedian. She was given an accommodation that is part of a casino where the stand up comedian performs, and the cafeteria where she was eating is casino employees cafeteria.

But the new law clearly says smoking is prohibited in restaurants inside casinos in Nevada.

And what is your point? I am not supposed to be awake? For an adult Canadian in a first world country you are extremely childish and judgemental. In fact, you should come to South Africa, because your 3rd world mentality would fit in very nicely with the Guptas.

Yes and you @Sentinel also. You will sit and watch this vokazu creature bully an older woman and stand aside and do and say nothing. Says a lot about the collective character- do you also think I am lying? Do you enjoy a senior being bullied?

The Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act prohibits smoking in most indoor places of employment.
Exemptions include casinos and bars that only allow entrance to those 21 and over.
