Sorry but it blows my mind that Federer's Win/Loss % from 2011 to 2019 is higher than Sampras from 1992-2000

Add to that that 2008 is suddenly considered stronger than 2007 just because Nadal edged Federer in the Wimbledon final. In reality 2008 wasn't stronger but you can't mess with the agendas on this board.

2005 Safin beat Fed at the AO, Nadal stopped him on clay and won tournaments on hard courts, Nalbandian beat Fed at the Masters Cup, but according to some "experts" on this board, that was an weak year.

OCO those are still just isolated losses thru that period! Even Borg in his "Hey Day" wasn't perfect and had losses! Fed was still dominating, though a late bloomer! With his genius and what we consider a weak era, he took over in '04 like no other player in the Open era! Only Nole's come close to winning 3 majors in a season 3 times like Fed & he did it in a 4 year window of excellence! Only Rafa stood in his way of immortality winning multiple CYGS, but it wasn't meant to be! His frustration was doubled when Nole came into his own in 2011 and started dominating their rivalry as well! Roger might have had 26 majors by now if not for Djokovic's "Houdini act" again and again to thwart his 2nd best rival! :sneaky:

I wouldn't say that Nole dominated their rivalry already in 2011 cause Fed was 2-3 in slams against him in 11-12.The real domination started in the last 5 years or so.

Rafa could have stood in his way even on grass, but Fed was better on grass and still won in 06-07.It's not like Rafa was great only on clay.

Again, "absolutes" seem to run rampant around here due to the "bar" being "raised" so high by Fedalovic I guess, but domination doesn't have to be "never" losing to a player! WE used to say Rafa dominated Roger for years, but the odd loss occurred obviously or the rivalry wouldn't have tightened up in the last couple seasons! :sneaky:

I don't mean that domination means never losing, but still the difference at the slam level was not yet big enough to be called domination.Still, it's true that the overall rivalry turned into Djokovic's favor ever since 2011, but that is valid in his overall rivalry with Nadal too.

2008 might have been a little stronger. But not by a lot.
