"String Theory", by David Foster Wallace

Yes. Very worth reading for anyone who enjoys both tennis and literary writing. I remember especially liking the Teacy Austin piece and the one on his own junior tennis experience.

His I-am-very-clever style doesn't gel with absolutely everyone, which is fine, but personally I enjoy the writing.

I just finished the Michael Joyce piece. I want to get into his other essays about tennis. I was talking to a buddy who called me in the middle of a match yesterday (on my Apple Watch) and we got to talking about interesting quotes he picked up from Infinite Jest lol

That's one of my favorite tennis articles, so well written.

I have it on my book shelf but never got into it. Will do one day when I'm in the mood as I loved the socks of Infinite Jest and enjoy listening to Wallace's interviews. Not sure what it is about the essays, but they just haven't gelled with me. But, I could not get enough of Infinite Jest and still pick it up and read passages.

There's a good movie called The End of The Tour starring Jason Segal as DFW which is worth watching.

It's on my list. I'm glad to hear it's good as I could not stand the disappointment otherwise! I like Segal though so I'll look for it.
