Stupid Question. Wouldn't Nadal benefit from a year off?

That would be the best thing to do for a woman. But the ATP is not the WTA. I don't think it's possible to make a successfull comeback after one year. Playing less on HC would be the solution, but it's not possible with the calender.

He needs to:

1. Cut down on the 7 hour a day practices.

2. Stop playing exhibitions.

3. Stop trying to chase down impossible shots 50' away when he's already up 6-2, 5-1, 40-0.

4. Play fewer tournaments.

Here we are, 8 years later and same story. And it's the ATP's fault now.

Something like this would help a guy like Federer (he doesn't need it, but just saying). Nadal's form depends a lot on him putting the hours in the practice court and by playing lots and lots of matches. So a break might do him a lot of disservice.. he'll struggle to get back to the top again.
