Kudos!
A lesson in reality. How your friends perceive you, how your competition perceives you, and how your family perceives you, plus how YOU perceive you.

At least you graduated out of feeding sitters to grannys and rich moms.
I never did, after 4 months of 4 hour a day lessons at GoldenGatePark in SanFrancisco.
It would be fine NOW, now that I'm 64.

hey that someone is a precious fellow tennis enthusiast. we can't leave him doomed with wrong information. we all are saviours of sorts. and helping poor souls with confused perception feels great. even addictive. aren't we all here for that? and of course the spectators and bystanders that have no interest in tennis tips. a group of fine people as us can't be all pretentious and useless all of the time. think positive balla. your loneliness in a foreign land is turning you into a bored cynic. gotta come back to the states and marry and have kids and run a club and churn out D1 players.

What do you think about this instructor? This coach is in my club and teaches a group lesson for juniors emphasizing doubles at least once a week. Since this matches the time I get there, I have noticed for several years that a girl who is quite athletic has been hitting forehands and backwards in an awkward way, especially the backhand which had all kinds of motion before impact. It continued like this. Last Friday, I was there when she had taken her first private lesson with the coach and the mother was writing the check. She said about 10 times (not kidding) how the coach had completely turned around her daughter's strokes in one hour. That is how it caught my attention. Then the coach says that I fixed her flawed forehand swing and got her to drop the useless racket motion on her backhand. The mother was telling her daughter: you don't realize what happened today because there is no mirror, but it is like night and day. I could have told her how bad her strokes were years ago.

Years and years of group clinics with no fixing of the basic swing, and then the fix is given only at the first private lesson ($60)?
