Van "The Man" Morrison blows out candles today too!

G l o r i a!
Which Morrison did a better version of "Gloria": Van or Jim?

I saw Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, John Lee Hooker, and many others at Guinness Fleadh in Golden Gate Park in 1999.. Shane MacGowan was supposed to be there, but "was unable to perform".

I had just returned from China, got backstage and met Elvis Costello, and had a great time. That was the same day as the infamous Roland Garros final between Graf and Hingis, which I recorded and watched the next day.

It's possible that the great and one and only REDFOO was also born on this great day. September 3rd is truly blessed if that is so.

Richard Wright will have his day tomorrow, in case i forget to post, but what does he compare to the GOAT redfoo, who could eclipse even Led Zep if only he wanted to.

oops. that's not the musician, its some other Richard Wright, sorry !

Happy Birthday to all the people born on this day.

See how silly that sounds? That is why I never celebrate birthdays or wish people on their birthdays.

How is the rebirth of The Bionic Warrior going? We will all celebrate September 23 as sureshs2.0's birthday now that you will achieve world domination with the Razr as your Excalibur!

Happy Day there!

I was about to swing my new racket today, but a sudden office party has been scheduled at a pub this evening. I would rather play tennis than nibble on unhealthy appetizers and make fake talk, but the bigwigs will be there so I better show up.

So I am playing tomorrow.

And there I thought "eating and sleeping" was your motto.

As far as making "fake talk", I just can't picture you doing that after reading your pearls of wisdom here.

Yum yum! Saw a birthday card that said getting old is a lot like cooking bacon in the nude...you know it's gonna hurt but not exactly where!

Thanks to all of you for the best wishes! You're making my slide into senior citizenship totally painless!

October 20:

My boy, Tom Petty, is 64 today. My Dogg, Snoop, is 43 today. Aragorn's portrayer, Viggo Mortensen, is 56 today.

My idol growing up, Mickey Mantle, would have been 83 today. RIP, Mick. Another baseball great, Giant pitcher Juan Marichal, turns 77 today. Hope he throws out a first pitch in the World Series. Because there was no inter-league play back then, they only played against each other once in World Series Game 4 on October 8, 1962. Marichal pitched 4 innings of two-hit shutout ball. The irony of that game in Yankee Stadium...the winning pitcher in relief for the Giants was ex-Yankee Don Larsen, who pitched a perfect game (only one in WS history) exactly six years earlier!

Tina Turner turns 75 today. Happy Day to the lady who declared about 20 feet from me one night, "We never do anything nice and easy, we always do it nice and ROUGH!"

Shout out to Woodrow on his day too! Sadly haven't seen him on the board too much lately.
