I've been using the 6.1 95 18x20 for a few years but i was thinking of trying out the TC 95 18x20 using the heaviest customizable option (330 grams 10pt HL). Anyone here know how that would compare feel wise and power? Also, those RA spec choices (70 or 63) I'm assuming are unstrung? So strung up it would go down in RA correct?
I'm not sure I will stick with these mods, but I just wanted to match my Duel G and Tour G 310s at @355g 32cm as a baseline. What modifications have you made to your Lime K7?
This one lasted pretty long time I have to admit. But everything has it’s ending.

You’re the Pete Townshend of tennis.
Is the head shape of the ASL3 similar or different than the TC100? Any thoughts yet on serve comparison between the two?I had an hour hit with a buddy this morning with ASL3 333.8g, 6.5HL and BBO@48lbs. Damned now we’re talking The extra weight certainly brings this frame alive for me. I don’t think anyone is gonna need to hit bigger then this baby so power on tap is very generous. And the sweet spot which also felt generous so a forgiving hit for sure. It smacks a serve big and felt comfortable on my OHBH. Even slice seemed easy and didn’t require anything special on my part. Very comfy, I had zero issues there and BBO is not exactly a comfort string. Feel is good as well and a flex that is in between the 63 and 70RA. This has a shot of being my favorite 100 in the Angel line

They have a demo package for first-time customers. All string sets 40% off. I ordered gauge 17.

Now I have a dilemma, shall I get another TC95 or try that new ASL.

Haha, I'll be honest. I'm in it for the cross section pictureYeah, we all know how good glowing reviews for an hour hitting are But yeah, wouldn’t mind seeing ASL3 cross section
it’s like slowing down to check out the car accidentHaha, I'll be honest. I'm in it for the cross section picture
Currently in my Lime K7 I am using the Weisscannon scorpion 1.22 string with 40 lbs. Before I was using 45 lbs and even with 5 lbs less the control is still excellent and the power increased without losing control.Anyone here playing with 18x20 Angell -- TC or K7, what's the lowest tension you've used (mainly interested in full poly)? I keep dropping my tension from 50, now down to 47/46, it seems to play better and better the lower the tension. Thinking about 45/43 next time. Has anyone done
I'm currently testing with Black Knight & RS Lyon hybrid. Damn... beautiful control, ball pocketing, soft feeling. All too often my opponents just let the ball go only to realize it's way in
TC97 18x20 here and I am at 42lbs currently. Started at 50lbs and you are right, the lower I went, the more I loved it. Dwell time has increased, stringbed has become softer and heaps of control because of the denser pattern. I'm hitting deeper too than usual. I did notice a slight increase in launch angle but that is very adjustable. Do you think the Weisscannon ultra cable would look good on TC97 18x20 or K7 Lime? Would it help in spin?TC97 18x20 here and I am at 42lbs currently. I'm not a fan of the UC, in all honesty. It plays far too crisp and firm for my taste. Crazy level of spin though. Also, the string died too quickly for me and tension maintenance was terrible. I posted pictures here a long time back. I was using TC100s back then and the string ate through my grommets as well. But yes, you will get great spin.Do you think the Weisscannon ultra cable would look good on TC97 18x20 or K7 Lime? Would it help in spin?

Got it. Is Hyper-G 1.20, would it be a good choice?I'm not a fan of the UC, in all honesty. It plays far too crisp and firm for my taste. Crazy level of spin though. Also, keep in mind it is a thicker string than advertised. If I were to rate it's true gauge, I would rate it very close to 15L, not the 17 that it is advertised at. Not a good fit for denser patterns, better fit for more open patterns, IMHO.
Yes, for sure. I liked Hyper-G much more. Softer than UC so arm stays happy, better tension maintenance and playability, and has great spin/control as well.Got it. Is Hyper-G 1.20, would it be a good choice?

Thanks !! For whatever reason the link from the US site to to European site didn't work for me. So I bookmark this one !
I've just bought 2 sets of RS Lyon, 1,20 and 1,25. Any recommandation regarding tension and gauge on the TC95 v2 ?

Wow, that has definitely not been my experience and I played with Hyper-G a lot. I played with maybe 2 sets of UC and that was two many. What tensions did you use the Hyper-G at? Although that shouldn't matter since I've gone as high up as 55 lbs on Hyper-G without issues in my TC100. I did use thicker gauge than 1.18 however. I think it was 17 (1.20).Interesting.
I've found hyper g 1.18 more stiff than UC but better spin. More visible dip on the ball too with hyper g, I was using them in different racquets though but the UC was in a 66ra 16x20 and the hyper g in a 59ra 18x19 frame. Until I tried them I'd hence expected more comfort and less spin in the 59ra frame with hyper g . But got the opposite in practice.

I'm sorry. I misread your post earlier. I thought when you talked about dip, you were talking about playability, not the spin. Yes, Hyper-G definitely has great spin. I am still unsure why it played stiffer for you compared to UC. Perhaps string pattern and tension in the mix.Interesting.

Yes, I liked that string. I did not migrate to K7 Lime, I always play with it and with tc95. The idea is to play with both, and the choice depends on the type of game of the opponent. For opponents with a lot of spin, I prefer k7-lime and for little or medium spin to tc95.How do you like that string? Are you switching to the Lime?

If you buy one for your wife, get in contact with Angell before and ask for a second pair of bigger pallets (if they use pallets on ASL3).Would be good to know if handle is pallets or moulded (think you said the latest K7 Red has pallets).
Thinking about getting one for my wife, but if she doesn't get on with it I'd probably use it. Would rather swap out pallets than build up grip (would be from a 2 to a 4). Does Paul even sell spare pallets?
Yep, very true. And good example how we feel same things differently.
Ah, I see. I'm personally not a fan of TWU numbers since I find most of them do not correspond to how I personally feel about the string. I mean they are good for reference purposes sure, but only that (for me). But that said, I can definitely understand why some strings might feel stiff to some and soft to others and how everyone perceives traits differently. For example, for me it wasn't even close when it came to UC - it felt very bad. But then, a few higher TWU rated stiffness ones were absolutely fine for me.The playing tension was actually less in the hyper g as measured by racquet tune. TWU do quote the stiffness of UC 17l (175) as lower than the hyper g 18l (180). Having said that I prefer the hyper G as it's more consistent and controllable and keeps those properties longer than uc.

Played in stock mode or customized?Had my first outing with the K7 Lime that I have bought from @Subaruvich I kinda saved that racket from death judging by the pictures above .
It really swings easy. And has plenty of power! Feels and flex is the same as my second batch K7 red (the first batch was way softer and lower powered but the Ra was quite spread and there wasnt much love for this first batch). The lime does feel a lot more stable than the k7 red. It swings easier on my one handed backhand also allowing me to hit some nice topspin ohbh's which is normally my weakness. Forehand came very well and so did the serve. It has the typical flex which sometimes feels like a catapult. I quite like the stick so far. Second outing planned for tomorrow.
K7 Red and Lime need lead for more life and power. I added 6 grams on the sides of my K7 Lime and turned into another racket. I started with 9.5 grams, but for me the ideal range is between 4 and 6 grams, in my tests.Could you please advise which string worked well in K7 Red for you? I’m looking for soft and spin friendly poly options.
I’m really trying to like the frame but it’s a bit lifeless in stock, or it might be just the string...
Initially I strung mine with Halo1.
And apparently I’ll need to add some lead and leather grip as well.
Thanks!
PS: as of now TC97 is my favorite it really shines after I added some lead @12, 3 and 9, K7 Lime stock follows it. Both strung with Halo2
You can’t really play stock with that expectation. You add 3g @12, a leather grip and around 7g @7” from the butt cap. String it up with YTEX quadro twist @51lb. Now that’s for K7 red. That puts you around 12oz and 32cm balance.Could you please advise which string worked well in K7 Red for you? I’m looking for soft and spin friendly poly options.

I played my red with RSLyon. On the Lime I have Pro Line II now. Is your Red first or second batch? For me the second batch and the lime have plenty of power in stock form.Could you please advise which string worked well in K7 Red for you? I’m looking for soft and spin friendly poly options.
