fan and also big fan of nadal and nole .
I considers them legends of the sport . so no hating to anyone.
we are very lucky that this three are playing in same era and
we are able to watch their tennis .

Let's come to main topic -

I have observed some aspects of nole's game that he have Never shown before

1) Forehand- Novak's Fh is much improved right now.
especially he had developed IO FH very nicely.
in his peak also his IO fh were never better.
YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE HE WAS PUNISHING NADAL WITH
HIS FH. NOT WITH HIS BH WHICH WAS CONSIDERED AS
HIS BIGGEST WEAPON.
He was hitting Fh much flatter and with pace . he was punishing the line in every Fh in second and third set.NADAL WAS LOOKING HOPELESS AGAINST HIS FH IN TWO SETS.
IF NOLE WILL CONTINUE TO HIT THIS TYPE OF FH I RATE HIS FH WITHIN BEST 5 EVER.
IF WE EXCLUDE UES HIS FH WAS MUCH BETTER THAN 2011!

NOLE IS NOT PUSHER / GRINDER NOW-

He hit 21 winners in third set and 17 in fourth with overall count more than 50.
If he can hit more than 50 winners against solid defender like nadal , we cannot call him as grinder.
IMO he is best attacking base liner ever . nobody can match his ability to hit winners from baseline.

Defence - on the other hand nadal could hit 27 winners in four sets shows how he was defending well.

Return Game - no doubt best returner ever showed his class yesterday.

Everybody nows he was up in third set by 4-2 and after that due to loss of concentration he lost the match.

With his improved Fh and already great BH and returns now he is unbeatable now. he just require more time to
recover him mentally.

don't get surprised if he beats nadal in straight sets in major in 2014.

The 2014 will be a good year for Djokovic and bad year for Nadal. Just check patterns in their career and it is quite clear. Nadal will be too old to recover after that (2015, 2016, ...).

So this short recurrence of Nadal era will be ended early in 2014 by Djokovic.

So Nadal fans enjoy while it lasts. Sorry but it will not be long.

djokovic was ripping nadal's on his forehand side in the 2nd and 3rd set. i was really shocked to see nadal being overpowered on his forehand side. the last time this has happened, i think one has to go back to the 06 indoor courts days when blake and federer were able to do that.

but somehow, nadal survived. i think its really testament to nadal's sheer fortitude and mental strength.

For me, Nadal is not GOAT and probably wont be because Federer just has too many stats going for him. But what I do believe is, Nadal is the greatest fighter of all time. I mean I know you have Borg and Sampras and yeah but for me personally, Nadal is the greatest fighter of all time and a solid rock. So for Djokovic to beat him he has to come with some 2011 tennis again, not holding back, not folding, basically do what he did end of the second set and beginning of the third set and do that for the rest of the match.

his FH was as good as roger's !! very flat.

I do not see a current player who will end Rafa Nadal's reign at Roland Garros. That person is probably a 14/15 years old Spaniard Rafa clone yet to make his move.

On hard courts? Novak and Murray are only a year younger than Rafa so I do not see that aging will be much of a factor. Of the younger established players, only Del Potro has the weapons to overtake the big three but I am not sure if he has what it takes mentally to get to the next level. Again, the next player to come through and dominate on hard courts is probably still a junior.

On grass, I think Rafa can win another Wimbledon if he gets a kind first week draw and can scrape through the early rounds but I think it is unlikely and wil become less of a priority as he ages and realises that he cannot win them all.

I believe that Rafa's most serious opponent in the next five years will be his body. If it can continue to take the strain, he will still be a major force in tennis, well into his thirties.
