What a era. Djokovic and Nadal have edged it though over Federer since AO 05. I think the distance will grow as well unless Federer finds 2017 like form.....

Djokovic and Nadal should hit 40 Masters titles easily if they can maintain their form for another couple of years. That is going to be so hard to be touched by these younger guys coming up.

Honestly, what is the point of this post. Obviously if you take out a very significant chunk out of Federer's career and Nadal's as well, the numbers will suit you. Because Federer started to play first, and then Nadal, you are taking away some of what they achieved before Djokovic. There is zero meaning in these numbers.

The meaning is that Federer won a lot in a weaker era when other Big3 were not playing yet. And of course no other of this level was around, as Sampras retired in 2002.

Wow, so Fed's peak didn't overlap with the Djokodal Era? This is surely news to all of us. SO glad you made a thread about it. It must be the first one you or anyone else has ever made about it.

On behalf of everyone at TTW, thank you.

Djokovic won a lot of titles and slams with no other prime ATG around. 11/17 slams and counting post Fedal prime.

If there's one thing Lew is good at, it's cherry picking.

How about just look at the period since 2005 AO, when all 3 came to the GS stage, Federer 23 y.o., Nadal 18 y.o., Novak 17 y.o.?

With 10 masters being played every year, I can see someone in future easily getting 50 masters.
Doubt it'd be "easy".

Nadal was practically a lock for every clay M1000 title for close to a decade and yet has only managed to win just under 3/4 of that.

Unless someone in the future becomes king of hards to the same degree that Nadal is the king on clay, I don't see someone reaching 50 too soon.

All is seen through Nadal and Djokovic lenses, as if only they matter and anybody else is just weak competition.

This makes a lot of sense. Except for a head start, mainly achievements made in 2004, Federer has nothing over Nadal and Novak. He will likely fall to the 3rd place eventually.
As surreal as it may sound, the coronavirus might cause multiple majors cancelled in this critical year and change the race outcome.

Highly doubt Corona will have that impact. But if Rafa wins RG and Djoker wins W/USO, it’s a lock for Fed 3rd all time

It will be easy for the next ATG. Not many times you are going to have a guy mopping all clay and finding it hard to get HC and vice versa.

Federer 17
Nadal 13
Djokovic 7

Note that Djokovic didn't win the FO prior to the weak era so he is also lacking a career grand slam.

Just trolling.

No majors will be cancelled.
