Tourna Grip Tac

Hey Guys,

I just went to buy a 30-pack reel of Tournagrip original, and I screwed up. I bought a reel of the "Tac" kind. I ripped it all open and started taking some off before I realized it. I'm one of those guys that cannot use anything other than the original Tournagrip, or I end up throwing my frame into the ground.

Is this stuff going to be too slick for me?

If so, and you like this stuff, let me know - I'll cut you a deal!

Keep your hands clean (go wash them) and they'll stick pretty well. They feel better and last longer than TG but they don't absorb sweat as well.

I know what you mean, I can only use Original Tourna Grip as well. All that tacky stuff works for a short time (30 min) and then becomes slick!

I used to use the original one ONLY, but after accidently buying the tacky kind, i'm growing to like it more and more. Its a little more comfortable than the original one. I currently have about 50 in my room right now and don't mind to buy it off of you if you cut me a good deal ;)

Is the blue Tourna-tac clothy like Original? Or is the material more like Wilson Pro/Supergrap? I got this demo with something looks and feels like Tournagrip and I like it (used to not like Tournagrip) so I'm trying to figure out if its Tourna-grip or Tourna-tac so I can buy a reel

IMO, the tourna tack will get slick pretty fast in the summer heat
but,, the tourna tac will feel awsome in the colder months
the turna grip or tourna grip xl are best for summer months when you need the sweat absorbtion

Encouraging...

I feel like this will be the case with this stuff.

I'd give you an awesome deal made not so awesome because of shipping costs. But I'll send you both reels, with one grip taken off (before I realized what it was ) for $28. Or a trade??

It feels like a more rubbery version of Wilson Pro...

Tournagrip is awesome stuff, if you're willing to change the grip everytime you oplay.

I feel like the sweat on my hands is sometimes more severe in colder months as I take my hand off the racket lesso ften...

Cool thanks. The one I have is Tourna-grip then. Feels nice and stays with enough tack even though its kinda old (came with the demo). Odd cuz my hands used never sweat and that's why I used Wilson Pro/Supergrap/Tourna-tac for so long. I guess my hands sweat now ahaha. Tournagrip is now my new favorite :)

I've used Super Grapp, Gamma Supreme and now Tourna Tac. I think the Tourna Tac has the best sweat abosorbtion of the three. I have also used Tourna-grip, but it just requires too much maintenance. I can get 5-6 sessions out of the Tourna Tac.

I can only get 2 MAYBE 3 sessions off Tourna-tac

I just got handed some Tourna Tac last night and I like it. You should be fine. The only thing I don't like as much is that it is not as thin and you can't feel the bevels as well as the regular Tourna. Besides that, it is still awesome for sweat absorbtion and ideal for the cooler months.

Yes, I agree. It is a little thicker-feeling. Very nice tack, though. And quite durable so far.

Well... I tried this stuff. It is surprisingly OK for me. I normally can't use tacky grips at all because they instantly slip, but this stuff was OK. Only thing is, I already bought another reel of Tourna Grip Original...

$29 gets you the 29 leftover grips and the grip tape SHIPPED to your door. Who wants it?

Oh! Oh! OH! Pick me!

What colour is it? Heck, I don't care. It could be leopard print. (Will provide US shipping address)

Since Terr emailed me, he gets it.

For anyone else reading this thread, I agree with most of the previous posters. It is pretty good stuff if you like the tacky'ish grips.

Has anyone else noticed that the XL version of original tournagrip is noticeably tackier and the color is darker too. There is also a difference in the way they stretch, but it may be because XL is wider. Anyone else notice this?

Personally I like the soft and dry feel of the original the best. I just wish it fit all handles like all the other grip manufacturers.

Tourna Grip and Tourna Tac are two different grips.... or are you saying the XL original version is darker and tackier than the regular length original version?

the original tourna grip
and the tourna grip xl are the same , only difference, is that the XL is wider, same length, same thickness, just about 1/4 inch wider, hence it covers a little more grip space when u use wrap the racquets

my hands are very sweaty and I play in NC in very hot humid conditions. I have never played with a tacky grip that does as well as the tourna tac. this stuff does not get slick quickly for me. It is very absorbant and dries unbelievably fast. I like regular tourna too but this new one is the best of both worlds.
