US Open PRE-QUALIFYERS

Does anybody know of any pre-qualifying tournaments to get into the actual qualifying tournaments for the US Open? I am looking to enter one because I'm confident I can win the US Open, but I know that even for the qualifying tournaments, they take rankings into consideration.

Disgusting lack of support for this talented up and comer.

Op, let me tell you something you already know. Talk Tennis ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as these posters. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how qualifying is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that.

Hard to tell if you are being serious. But there are US Open National Playoffs now. Each USTA section has one. If you win the sectional tournament, you go to New Haven to play in the national tournament which has the 16 sectional winners. If you win that, you get a wildcard into qualifying of the US Open.

Good Luck!!!

I used to dream of a dream run in jrs, getting into the main draw of the open and having an incredible 2 weeks.

They used to just have qualies right before the open at Flushing Meadow.
Now, they do sectional or regional pre-prequalies all over the country, usually at larger public facilities.

I've been out of the playing scene for a while now, but my impression is that the winners of those regional tournaments move on to the pre-qualies in CT, then get into the actual qualies at the National Tennis Ctr.

Have a great time, man! Play well! Best wishes! Let us know how it goes.

EDIT:
Just read Woodrow's response. There you go!

More information on this would be greatly appreciated. I live in New Jersey....is there anything near there?

The Eastern Section tournament has already happened.

New England already happened.

Mid Atlantic already happened.

Middle States was this week it looks like

It looks like the only one that you can still enter is Southern Section. Entries close on 6/20. The tournament is in Alpharetta, GA.

I believe the only 2 requirements are that you need to be a USTA member, and you need to be 14 years old or above. Entry fee is $134.88.

Thanks for the info. I'll just wait until next year. BTW I can't serve I just lob it in. I'm going to be the first person who can't serve above 50 MPH to win the US Open.

Thanks for wasting my time now that it's clear you're not serious.

USO prequalies are a lot of work and you get no prize money, so I wouldn't go that route. Just see if you can win a couple of futures next month to get your ranking high enough for the qualies. I don't want to discourage you, but winning US Open is not that easy, because you will probably have to beat either Nadal or Djokovic to even make it to the final, and the final can be very tough, just look at Murray.
