Vcore 95 or 98 vs blade v8 16x19

What are your guys thoughts on the vcore compared to the blade v8? I currently use the blade v8 16x19 with solinco confidential. Would it be a good switch to a vcore 95 or 98?

vcore would have more power IMO
with the 95 having a lower launch angle, similar to the blade, and more control > than the vcore 98
I have to go 95

@zhyatt - All three are perfectly legitimate sticks, and while we could dive into their inherent differences and back-track to a choice from there, I think it would be much more effective to come at this from the point of view of your needs. What do you feel you need more or less of from a frame right now? What is the Blade v8 16x19 not giving you, that you wish you had more of? Start there, and we can much more effectively guide you towards one of the frames in question, or perhaps something different altogether, depending on what you're looking for.

The blade is a very solid frame for me now. I at 14 and a very high-level junior. The blade can just be a little too soft at times and unstable with the swingweight being a little low for me. I would want a high swingweight without raising the weight too much.

Have you considered Blade Pro? Or Shift 300? Pure Aero Rafa 2023?
I have considered the Blade Pro but, I wouldn't being willing to go to a little weight with the shift or i think the pure aero is a bit too spinny for my liking.

Much better input, thank you. If you're just wishing for a bit more swing weight and stability, how about simply customizing your Blade with some lead tape? A little goes a long way. Start with 1-2g at 12 o'clock (for power) and 1-2g 9 & 3 o'clock (for stability). The flex is of course harder to fix, but if you haven't already, you could try using stiffer strings to firm up the overall feel (example: try 4G at a reasonable tension).

If you've tried some or all of the above to no avail, or you just want a frame that is beefier without having to customize, I would look at the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19 and Prince ATS Tour 98, or for something even beefier, the Pure Strike Tour or Yonex EZone 98 Tour. The feel will be better on the Prince and Yonex than on the Strikes, but the Strikes definitely are results-oriented attacking sticks that are effective at what they're geared to do.

Hope that helps.

Thank you!! I will try the led tape and also I use a stiffer string to compensate.

If that doesn't work out, you can actually try some recent versions of the Blade itself.

They're just different variations on the Blade, not inferior to the current v8. V6 and v7 were a bit stiffer and more powerful than v8.

And the v6 is still available directly from Wilson. V7 can be found at various retailers.

There is a lot of discussion on these forums (plus YT, etc.) about the specific differences between v6, v7, and v8.

But I also know some that really love the VCore 98, but pretty different racquet coming from the Blade. Maybe closer to a Pure Aero in power and spin but with a different feel.

Ok thank you. I own a v7 but enjoy the overall feeling of the v8. The pure aero will be on my bucket list to try. I am about to hit so I will try out the led tape and see if that makes a difference.

Tecnifibre TF40 or Whiteout are good options for a slightly higher swingweight at same static weight. They're both blade esque rackets as well. Maybe even Radical MP with a little bit of weight
TF40 305 16x19 has a SW of 321
Whiteout 305 16x19 is 327

The TF40 will go on my try list as well as the whiteout. I switched from the radical mp to the blade.

if you’re a top ranked junior both should offer you really good packages as well. with you using Confidential added bonus of a good deal on strings

Similar to which Blade? The regular Blade V8 16x19? The 2023 VCore 95’s launch angle is quite a bit more than that Blade.

My only gripe is the round grip shape..
But that's nothing new.. that's just personal preference..
Same here.
It's larger than the Wilson and the Head pallets that I have used, that are supposed to be the same size.
As you stated, it's rounder, which I am used to Wilson bevels and finding my grip.
The butt-cap has zero flair to it, it's like it goes straight down from the pallet.
It's a nice frame, but that handle is...Meh.
